  1. I've been seeing soy wax in lip balms instead of beeswax. Anyone know where I can purchase this?
  2. It wasn't too bad except when I had to seal the bag. I tried to let the air out before I zipped it and a cloud of charcoal came out. And yes it did stick to my measuring spoon but not my little bowl. Weird.
  3. I also made a batch last week and I used 1 T/ppo and mine came out black and it suds up white.
  4. How much clay do you use per pound of oils?
  5. I use 50/50 but if I am running low I will use more of the one I have more of a supply of. Haven't noticed a difference.
  6. I use it with lx wicks. Half and half. It's so nice to not have frosting or air pockets.
  7. I just bought some today at herb bulk store. Can't wait to try.
  8. I found a recipe I want to try. It has soybean oil in it. Is there something else I can use in place of this?
  9. Maybe the vacuum. None of the tape was twisted and the liner was still fine. When I used freezer paper before it didn't do that. So it must be the liner. I was trying for an easier way to get straight edges and easier lining. Once I cut off the edges they were smooth and looked great. But back to my freezer paper I go. Thanks for your help.
  10. Yes I taped it. But nothing leaked out.
  11. I saw a software program soap making lite3. I think. Anyone have any views on it?
  12. The lining I used was the flexible cutting board that I cut to fit my mold. Could that have done it? I saw it on the lovin soap blog.
  13. How do I get the sides not to stick to my lined wooden mold?
  14. I want to make a lotion using lavender and lemon EO's. What ratio would you use these at?
  15. Since I am starting out to make soap I wanted a one pounder to not waste oils with experimenting and getting feet wet. I did find a site that has a resizer calculator to I will try that. It just seemed I was putting in more oils but getting less slices. I would run everything through a calculator. But was just confused that if I made a one pound batch I would get 4 bars but a 2 pound batch I would get 7 so I was curious if the bars were bigger since you get 1 less slice but doubled the oils. They are log wooden molds. Sorry if I'm not making sense.
  16. They are all the same sizes. 1" thick and 2.5 x 3
  17. I recently purchase 3 wooden molds. 1,2 and 3 pounds. The 1 pound makes 4 bars, the 2 pounds makes 7 and the 3 pounds makes 10. Why do the larger molds make less? If I put the same recipe in it and just double it why do I get less bars? Sorry haven't made soap yet still gathering all my materials.
  18. If I have a wooden mold am I able to put my own 1" slot in it and if so how would I do that?
  19. How do you know how much EO's to add to your recipe?
