The facts: I used C-3 wax, a apothacary jar(12 0z,rounded square, @ 3.5 inches across.) I used a Eco 12 wick (as per CS wick guide, Blueberry Cobbler(LS). I burned it at work, so I could watch it, then gave it to a friend to take home and test and let me know how the burn went. (Yes, shes a very good. friend who also helped me test my votives and tarts) Anyway she said it burned fine, full melt pool, great CT & HT. However approximately after burining about 2/3 of the way down it tunneled, and the wick burned all the way down to the metal tab. I noticed in the office that the wick kinda had a big flame, and mushroomed a little. What would cause this ? Should I wick down, or try a different kind of wick ? The same time I made that candle, I made the same using the same wax, container, Cinna-vanilla scent, but I wicked up, this one had alot of hang on the sides. On a good note, they both smelled great, and I really like the C-3 wax. I really enjoy making candles, yes....verry addictive ! Thanks, Deb

I haven't done any shows, but I have seen booths with only tarts. Before I started making my own, I liked to buy tarts because they were a inexpensive way to get a bunch of different scents. I also had bought candles that didn't have a good HT after getting them home and lighting them. You feel jipped. But with the tarts, for a buck or so you could give the vendor a try.

Not using wick pins, molds were clean. Maybe I will try and make sure I pour slowly. I don't think they are cooling too fast. Thanks Deb

I have been making votives using Ecosoya PB, they have been coming out great. However today a did a med blue color, and they have tiny pin holes (air bubbles ?) all the way around, along with tiny lines also. I did some red ones also they have a little just at the bottom. Last night I made honey colored and a very light lavender without this happening. I used the same wax heated to @175-180, poured at @ 135. What cause this, does it have anything to do with the color? Hi, my name is Debbie and I have been lurking around here for about 6 months or so. It's a great site with alot of info. I am so excited..... have gotten some different waxes and wicks and I want to make a million candles NOW !! hahaha I have also learned, you really meant test test test. My first attempt came in a kit and thanks to your help I realized I had to wick down. Then they came out great. Anyway, two questions for now. How high do you fill the tealight cups ? I see a little line halfway up but that doesnt seem like it would last very long. My other question concerns gb464, I have read alot about it on here, can you successfully dye it, or is this one left better off natural. Thanks, Debs
