I think you need to look around paypal as it's been awhile since i did that, but you just copy and paste their link and set up your business account with them. It was pretty easy. Ok- i just went to paypal and clicked on the business tab, and they have a tutorial there on what they offer. HTH

So the salt was actually dry? The solar salt stayed wet but I put it on the warmer and it smelled great, just not dry.

as i read it would work, but so far it doesn't seem to be absorbing the oils. I think these are so pretty, but i can't get them to either. I know some blow them dry, but I would think that would take away some of the scent.

I guess I need think of it more like you said- a business, rather than crafts/hand made items. I was very short sighted. Thanks for the bigger picture:o)

Is that hokey to just offer the drops, warmers, possibly some scented crystals? I thought that I could get some baskets and scoops and have like 10 open for people to mix and match scents to create their own scents. Then for the other scents, just have them prepackaged to sell.

I have been out of the candle biz for several years, I had to give it up when I developed allergies to the FO's. I am really missing the whole craft show sales thing and would like to get back into it somehow. I use to make wickfree candles and tarts and sold those and warmers- I would like to do that again, but was looking at possibly wholesale or the soy drops that EL sells, but that would not make it handcrafted. I have seen a couple of candle shops that sell the drops, but they have scents that are not offered on the EL site, are there other suppliers out there for these? and are the drops good? does the scent last? I love the sites that have blueberry lemon cheesecake and such- they sound divine! As a background- I am in NW NJ, where we can't get insurance for anything( that's why I really don't want to do bath and beauty products, and i realize I'm taking a risk w/ tarts) thanks for the ideas and opinions. I personally have never tried it but that's what I read somewhere- ya can't beat it to order 8oz of it for $5 and get the free samples as well- I love ordering from them! And I got a storm watch from ICS that seems really strong- didn't put it in wax yet ...so i can't comment. just thought i'd throw it out there if you were looking for them. Meredyth

We have alot of suppliers in this area- candles&supplies, candlewic, farmhouse,longwyck, FOH, RA, plus I am sure other- I just can't think of. who normally puts these on..the suppliers or a general person. I would love to do something to help if we have one. I'm in NW NJ . Meredyth

I just never knew how to do that- and don't bother- I use mine mostly as repeat customer orders... I am not good at the marketing side of the biz- I am sure that there are a lot of people who do well at that, but I think it takes more work than people realize...I know a lot of people think, "if Ijust had a web-site- then that's all I would need to do to sell my stuff" you really need to work it and get your name out there-maybe at first it was easier- but if you google candles or soy candles or whatever- there's thousands out there all hoping to get your business...so you need to work on getting your name to the top of the google list... and make sure you have eye catching items. :smiley2:

really need to sell cheaply....I don't see how the people who do sell candles on there make a profit- they sell for almost nothing and then you need to figure in the fees that ebay takes out. To me it's just not worth it. And the website sales- well, to be honest I really only to website sales to previous customers- I don't think I've every gotten a sale from someone out of the blue.... so don't expect to "build it and they will come" it just won't happen. You need to build your customer base elsewhere and just use your site as a reference place for them to go to check things out or re-order. sorry- this wasn't a yeah- what a great way to sell- response but this is an honest one- if you look on ebay what people are actually selling for and then take out the fees- it's impossible to make any money on them. it cost hundreds of dollars if not thousands to make and sell a good candle....then to have to cut yourself short on the price- no way- you work too hard to sell out so cheaply... ) Meredyth

cuz I locked myself out of my truck and had to wait an hour to have AAA come to unlock me! but at least I got to sniff alot- here's what I got and have sampled so far- I use 100% soy and only do tarts- peaches and cream - the best thrower by far in my soy mulberry spice- mmmmgoood streusel & spice- very nice tangerine orange cool citrus basil= way strong witches brew- it smells patchouli and throws ok- not real strong but not sure if I'd want that one really strong green tea and cucumber is very nice- better than the straight green tea. this is cool and refreshing- not a whole house thrower but nice Apple- plain apple- very nice and strong carmel apple- has a kick butt throw-need to cut back on this one- it was almost icky at 1.2/lb oh and my most favorite sample was mango margarita- wish I would have gotten a lb of this one- throws great and smells awesome. hmmm I know i got more but can't think right now- I will tell you I did sniff the mulled wine and it was good- I liked it much better than the mulled cider- that stunk in my opinion...hope it smells better in wax;) HTH Meredyth

I use 100% soy- and I have quite a few oils that I love- but I have not found a great throwing cinnamon/clove/nutmeg/ginger type scent- thought I would see if you all had any advise for peaks FO's Of course I like to try a couple new ones with that and I think we had a thread on the old board- would anyone like to make some recommendations for Peaks FO"s that are great w/ soy? thanks so much Meredyth
