Has anyone had success wicking Woodsmoke from Sweetcakes in soy wax?

I am about ready to throw candles across the room. I have tested , retested had successful results then problems again. Any of you out there ever use this fragrance in soy candle wax. I have wicked up. I have done 1 oz per lb. Is there another oil that is the same that performs better? Thank you!

any suggestions for somewhere that has a patchouli with a slight hint of mint / earthy blend?

Any reviews of Country Christmas from Sweetcakes? I ordered a sample. It smelled wonderful and then our scale had a glitch and I do believe my 1oz to lb ratio was off so it burned with weak flames. I'm going to reorder another sample but thought some of you have had experience with it in soy wax. Thank you!

So...I've been testing double wicking with a new apothecary jar 22 oz and 31 oz approx. 3 3/4 " .....2 cdn 14's in C1 . The melt pool seems to occur quicker......however going with a larger wick (cdn 22 didn't get it - cdn 24 gets a huge mushroom) I have noticed when testing for example Christmas Splendor and Harvest from Mill Creek..the scent throw at 1 oz per lb and double wick is REALLY strong. Have any of you found going from single wicks to double a huge difference in strength? I have really...never had to back off many scents. I'm starting to think I am becoming sensitive to clove / spice and maybe it is just me. Most of my clients like a more subtle scent that fills the room....not overwealming. Wondering if backing the F/O down will help?

May I suggest testing with a different fragrance oil. I use C1 instead of C3 but...........I could not get the CS Pumpkin Souffle to burn efficient in my wax with my cdn wicking. It just may not be a good mix. I am in the process of changing from large apoth to a cylinder and the normal CDN22 does not get it in this new jar...so I am testing as well. Just got done doing a first run of cdn 14 double and a cdn24.......next up will be the cdn 12's. the 14's made a full melt pool in only 2 hrs.........I'm hoping the 12's willl be the ticket. I have single wicked forever.......it is hard to change. Sigh

I had another supplier that had a clove / vanilla blend which I can no longer get. Do any of you have experience with the Golden Clove from ICS...it sounds like a good one and has a good rating. Thanks!

I am loving this fragrance. Cold throw is great. Did 1 oz per lb soy / veg wax. Those of you who use this...do you find it needs cure time? I am testing one day after making and not getting much hot throw ? Thanks!!!

After reading the posts , I have gone back and looked through my account and charges and the only two companies the past month I have used that card in conjunction with the candle supplies are Candle Science & Fillmore

I was hit over the weekend. They used my debit card number for my business. Over 3600.00 of charges in the UK. They purchased things at a guitar, organ & drum stores, travel lodge, perfume, etc. I use many suppliers, the same as you do. This is very..........upsetting and disturbing.

I have to say..I am puzzled. This former FOH fragrance that everyone raves about and gets major great reviews. I ordered samples from elements and the only larger bottle I ordered was this Apple Cobbler as it seemed like it has to be a winner. It smells like antibiotics? I cannot even explain what the smell is. I just poured it in wax and it still has this strange smell. I am just floored that it smells so bizzare. I do not smell apple at all. I have been making candles for years and have a good nose. I normally always order samples first and thought I'd take the chance on it .....I need to go back to samples only again. Does anyone have an opinion on this fragrance?

how much of an increase have you seen in soy wax? I am going to call tomorrow and check the pricing. As I haven't ordered since Jan. Price increases in all aspects of the business is very disheartening.

I was informed today that the Jar Store is going to see a pretty substantial increase in the pricing in March and to buy now. Anyone else hear this? Not good news no doubt. Can't imagine how much to expect this to be.

Thanks everyone. I currently do......use cd 22 in my apoth. with very good success. It is just the random fragrance like Plain Cin Stick from CS for some reason and say...Bergamot Violet from Peak that I just don't get the hot enough burn. In that case....I only do those in my tumblers. I use all veg. wax

Here is a question.... I know that the Stabillo company that makes the CD wicks , does them in larger sizes than the CD 22. They have a CD 24 & 26 etc. Since there are so many candle makers having trouble single wicking a standard apothecary, what then is the reason none of the suppliers have offered this larger size wick? Or is there one offering a CD 24 that I don't know about. Thank you!

I have been searching endlessly for the Havana (archipelago type) fragrance from Just by Nature..........I cannot find it anywhere. I ordered a sample of Havan Cigar from Taylored concepts which described it as Bergamot, Tobacco and Ylang so I thought perhaps it would be a winner. Wrong. It is very orange / citrusy smelling with a tobacco note. Not even close. Has anyone found someone whom carries it yet since JBN closed? Thank you!

I currently use tumblers that are identical to the ones that are shown on their website. I have purchased matte silver lids from fillmore but they do not carry the shiny chrome lids to fit the larger 11 oz / 14 oz tumbler with the 3 1/4 " opening. I ordered lids from Scented Nest and found instead of a plastic insert...they are rubber and pop up when you put them on? Has anyone else used these and noticed this issue? Thank you!

I am interesting in possibly trying to make Pillars ..preferably with a soy / palm or palm blend. No parafin. Does anyone have any recommendations on which works well and what wicking you are using for say 3 " dia pillars Thank you.

Has anyone else experienced this? Or can recommend the best Coc Lim Verb. I have used Bitter Creek South Millcreek's a few months ago and it smells more on the perfume side. Also JBN Coconut Lime Verbena smelled great. I reorderd the Just by Nature Cocout Lime Verbena and it smells like Lemongrass??????????????????? Is anyone else having trouble with formulations changing? Where can I get a fragrance oil that truly smells like coconut lime verbena?
