  1. Thank you Julia! I really appreciate your comment jo
  2. I'm in Australia Candybee and my soap (just olive oil and camel milk) unscented sells for $11.50 a bar
  3. I only wholesale, it's profitable enough for me to make it my business model and more importantly I am not a market person so this suits me. I also love what I do
  4. I make camel milk soap as I mentioned in the other forum. It's smooth and silky and has more fats than goat milk Drinking camel milk been linked to helping with lactose intolerance, crowns disease, autism and of course eczema and psoriasis I love soaping with it and can't keep up with the demand
  5. I am so sorry to hear of Corey's passing. I have a lot of her molds here in Australia. I would love her husbands link please
  6. IFT Agilex has a VBN to die for. Bugtussle does a co op for this and other FOs and I adore it. jo
  7. I cant find a replacement for their tangerine dreams either Peggy! I have tried a couple of others named as it, but, none come close to the strength of the Alabaster one. Ruth, their creme brulee was fantastic I agree, such a shame their oils were really good. jo
  8. HI Candy, Yes the sealant washes off when you first use the soap. You can tell a difference but not for long as the sealant disappears straight away. I only use it for items that most likely wont be used. The sealant is only lightly sprayed on. You are right it must be the low sweat that gives me the different results. jo
  9. Candybee Hi, I have found that once my mp sweats it will always sweat even if I remelt it. Have you found that?? Also I have discovered that if I only heat for 30secs on 30% in the microwave I never have sweating issues. If I forget to do the 30% power on the microwave, I can guarantee that the item will sweat. Currently I use SFIC low sweat cp like clear and white as where I live in Melbourne, its actually possible to have 4 seasons in one day! LOL I have also found that a spray of matte sealant will seal the outside of a presentation mp piece for example and you wont have sweating issues and you dont have to wrap either. This is all my own experience of course, others mileage may vary in their own environments. jo
  10. I too have the same issue with titanium dioxide not whitening as much as I want or expect. In the end I went to micas, it seems to work better for me and I don't have the td crackling issue either. I use olive oil at 50%. jo
  11. I was done with my mastercard overnight. 5,500+ by a company in England that converted the money into pounds and then out of pounds into USD. I was hit with currency conversion fees as well LOL All of it was done in 3 transactions of the exact same amount of $1483.17. There was no little transaction amount to test the account their testing amount was 983.24. Interestingly enough I have never purchased from ACS, but, my last transaction was only 5 days prior with the soap company in WA. That was my only transaction on the card for over 3 months, there are no direct debits either. So Richard I agree with you the paperwork is a PITA. The funniest part was westpac charged me an overdrawn fee as well LOL jo typos
  12. The volume/weight issue also occurs with some FO sellers. I dont mind if they want to sell that way, I do however agree with EricofAZ that they should say this is how they are selling. Sorry to hear about your purchase, its definitely a big difference that you have received when compared to what you thought you were going to receive. jo
  13. Lebermuth tuberose FO is fabulous. Great in cp, sticks like glue. Very close to the real flowers and yes I have the tuberose wax. This FO is much nicer than the wax. I use the wax straight like a balm and rub it on my wrists, its nice on my skin and lasts for quite a few hours that way. jo
  14. Bart Hi, 16oz = 1lb 2500ml = 5.5lbs On the above scenario for the large flat rate box ($54.95USD) you would be able to get 2 x 2500ml bottles with some room left over for a tester or two. However, in my experience it will depend on the shape of the 2500ml bottle as to how it actually fits into the box. I purchased a jug (7lbs) and discovered that the jug was the only thing that fit into the box! LOL I could in theory get another 6lbs in but not in practise. NG however, are very good at packing these boxes as was Bert from Bert's Heaven Scent and Aroma Haven also is good. SGS now have two new retailers and they are both going to use Flat Rate Boxes and ship internationally, so I am hoping they will pack well too. jo
  15. I mentioned decanting because if I purchased 5lbs of an FO from a supplier I would be expecting the FOs to be in one container not separate????? If they were separate then decanting would not be an issue, but I have purchased 8lbs from a supplier and the FO arrived in one jug and a couple of pound bottles. Same with when I have ordered monoi oils, one of the jugs and a couple of pound bottles. There are advantages to buying a larger size of the one FO because the supplier doesn't have to do the decanting. If the shipment was for 13 different scents then that would be much easier for your SiL I would think jo
  16. Bart I too would think there is some "protection" for NCS from the CS people in the States. Its a good idea in theory but, in practise NCS don't stock all the CS oils here in Oz, and I would have thought that CS would have been able to sell those particular oils to us and point us to NCS for any that are sold there. It would be a win win for CS in my mind as Jonsie rightly points out a sale is a sale and the US$ is weak at the moment. Jonsie that would be a good idea for your sister in law, but, the shipping with another $10.00 added makes the Large Flat Rate box over 60.00 ($64.95) USD and that just sounds plain scary to me, plus the shipping is a double up ie shipping from the supplier to your SIL and then again to OZ and the $10.00 handling fee on top. I assume we would be paying for the bottles and their shipping to your SIL for the decanting of the FO as well as the above? Packing costs ie tape and padding etc would also be our cost I imagine. There is a lot to consider for your SIL if she was to do large volumes of FOs from CS for example, its why I like co ops where the hostess has done all this before. They have space to hold the FOs whilst they are decanting and all the pumps and equipment required to do the decanting quickly and easily. Also your SIL would need to adhere to the Flashpoint issue as well or the penalty for $10.00 fee is just not worth it. How would she handle breakages?? its a lot to consider and once payment occurs all that needs to be thought of. Good idea though for a stay at home mum if it can be done and of course, suppliers all start somewhere. jo
  17. Richard if you decide to do larger amounts of the Fragrance oils I would be interested depending on the actual oil. There are a few other soapers here that I am sure would band with chandlers to get the FOs here. I ship FOs for soap from the States and have run into the Candlescience issue of international shipping. I usually get a friend to ship them to me now. I know some of the other suppliers are now offering International Shipping that were not previously and are also using Flat Rate Boxes as well, we can only hope that CS changes this policy. With regard to the NCS shipping I had taken out insurance and two small eos broke in transit, they were replaced without question and shipped out the next day. I had no issue with the customer service at all. jo jo
  18. I too have dealt with Bert and this is very sad news. Her oils were wonderful and she shipped here to me in Oz in flat rate boxes. I wish her all the best with whatever road she takes, she seemed to be a lovely person jo
  19. I wouldn't touch anything that was likely to bleed in my soap. Its a waste of supplies and money IMHO. Unless of course you want that look LOL I also like TKB products for both mp and cp jo
  20. HI, I agree with the others, originally this pop color (raspberry) did not morph but the last batch I had did the same thing. Just so you know there will always be this difference right to the end of cure and beyond. It may lessen but you will always be able to see the difference between the side and the top and it will bug you - a lot. Its such a shame, as people have mentioned the raspberry did not morph in the earlier batches and I have some from that earlier batch still here that I use only occasionally. I dont use the second batch raspberry at all now, its just too unpredictable. I had this issue with Et Une Rose just in case you have that FO dupe and its been noted on the Dish by others having the same trouble as well with quite a few other FOs Hope this helps jo
  21. I love blends like that, gorgeous combination and those swirls - to.die.for I am so jealous they are wonderful colors jo
  22. Carole I will still be in the co op if you do it again this year. The increase from Agilex is understandable, but I love their oils enough that I will cover that increase, their oils are so worth it to me. Yes the price increases have already started here in Australia too. I will wait for you to announce this years co op! LOL jo in Australia
  23. Agreed Tammy it is overpriced on the larger sizes, but if I want to test a fragrance I do use the smaller amounts and see if I like it. That way when I ship it from the States and pay the shipping I know what I am getting. It has in the long run saved me quite a lot of money. jo
  24. I am happy to help make a stickie for us all. That comment about Berts should read she charges only the actual shipping and gets 9 x 16oz bottles in a flat rate box. No leaks and sends an email to let you know its going. You can purchase insurance as well for an extra 2.00 approx and track it to Australia as well. Elements ship to Australia as well and they have the old FOH and Flickers oils too. Daystar as well ships internationally, so do Scent Works and Southern Soapers (SS have a section just for >200FP). I have purchased from all of these and they have some wonderful FO's. If I think of any others I will add them also. HTH jo
  25. No one mentioned Big Tree Supplies in Qld? Karen is fantastic on customer service, is an ex chandler and can tell you a bit about the scents etc. Currently having a baby but will be back online soon. I cant speak highly enough about her. I soap but I too bring in a lot of my FO's from the States, and I have been known to purchase from both companies you are discussing. Big Tree is good for small sizes to test and her variety is wonderful. Berts Heaven Scent is wonderful and super fast. She is lovely to deal with also and uses flat rate boxes, charges on the actual shipping. Wonderful supplier We soapers are in the same boat with FO's as you are. jo
