  1. I had a problem with some creamy body wash from Wholesale supply that was suppose to foam with the foam bottles they sell. However when I used my recycled Bath and Body foam bottles- it worked wonderful. When Bath and Body has theirs on sale 3/10- I figured I get to use their products and recycled bottles and get a great bargain
  2. I had the same problem- it didn't foam as much with the foam bottles I bought. So Bath and Body had a sale for theirs for 3.00 . I bought their stuff- used it and recycled the bottles with this product- works fine. I think the actual foam has a lot to do with it. I purchased my creamy body wash that I put in it from Wholesale Supply
  3. Thank you- these sound like useful, cheap easy things to make. Like I said- I pass out my crafts to friends just to make them smile.
  4. Since I don't sell my stuff- myself and my friends have an abundance of candles and lotions that I have made. I want to keep this hobby but looking for other things to make that I willl use. Has anybody ever made the airfreshners from those sheets? Do they really smell good. Any ideas for suppliers? thanks
  5. I was given abiout 30 avacados that are at the ripe stage. Before I give them all away- anything I can use out of them to mix with bath and body products?
  6. I have been taking the foaming bath whip base I bought from WSP, adding salt to it for an exfoliating scrub and some fo. It turns out like a nice creamy scub- but not very moisterising like when I use carrier oil and sugar and salt. Do you think it would be okay to use a carrier oil like almond oil to the mix? Thanks
  7. Sorry for the confusion- I guess you can tell I am a real rookie. I wish I had the courage to actually make the lotion from scratch like you guys do. I meant buy a base and then add stuff to it. The place I buy the base from validated I didn't need to add preservatives and I probably used fo not friendly for soap or used too much. I just thought it was strange I never had a problem and then all of a sudden it was really bad. Maybe after a year of buying the base, I will get brave and try to do it myself. I wonder if it is cheaper doing it that way if you just do it for a hobby. I know just getting the base and customizing it is cheaper than a store( especially with the scrubs- they charge a fortune for them)
  8. I still am not quite sure which preservatives to use. I don't make my own bases- I buy them . Why didn't the suppliers advise to add them with their direction? Is the preservatives already in there ( all I have been adding is fo) As mentioned, I never had a problem until recently and then I broke out in a very very bad rash.
  9. I just started making homemade lotions and creams for personal use and give to friends. My first batches were used up quickly(I made smaller quantities ) Anyways, I got bigger jars on sale- I think 16 oz For the first time I had a very bad reaction when I used my lotion. It was oatmeal honey and had turned a yucky brown but I had that problem before and assumed it was because I didn't use a stablizer for the vanilla in it. However, I am now wondering if something had gone wrong with my body cream because I don't use preservatives either and this body cream has taken me over a month to use( I have several different scents) Questions: 1. Should I use a preservative and not even sure what to use or where to buy 2. Could my rash have been caused by mold or something from not using it? Thanks for any advise
  10. I purchased both a lotion base and a whipped butter from Ky candle supply. Can you advise what could I add to it for dry skin that would mix well thank you
  11. Still a rookie and buying stuff to make for personal use and friends. I just bought some foaming bath whip from wsp. I wanted to try making an exfoliating scrub like it says you can. I think I read it right but would like to validate. If you use 16 oz of whip- it says use 25-50% exfoliate. Would that mean 4-8 oz of that? It also says to us raw brown sugar or crystal salt. All I have is turbentine( sugar in the raw), sea salt or kosher salt- would that work? Anybody use this before?
  12. Thank you . I guess I am trying from buying tons of material everytime I fall in love with a new craft. I don't sell my stuff so I was trying to keep the supply list low(thus not buying lye) I saw a receipe using Lux snowflakes but they don't sell snowflakes anywhere. I like the oatmel balls on the one link- thank you
  13. I don't sell my crafts but love to do them as a hobby and give away. I make all melt and pour soap but would love to do make soap that looks like the beautiful rustic homemade soap. I don't want to mess around with lye. I haven't heard good things about rebatching- and even with that don't you need homemade soap with lye? I read about making from soap flakes but they are hard to make. Any ideas?
  14. My m&p soap smells great after coming out of the mold, but seems to lose its scent after using it once or twice- is that normal?
  15. I am a "rookie gone wild". I have just started making lotions and soaps and candles( the short cut way- with bases). I use melt and pour soap and fo, I make soy candles, and use a lotion base . I also make sugar or salt scrubs using fo and carrier oil and fo. I don't sell my stuff- just give it away Anyways I was in this neat town and went into their herb and scent store. I bought some shea butter just because I thought I might need it for something. Any ideas what I can make with it? (has to be easy- this is just a spare time hobby and not much time)
