  1. Well something great happened for me! I originally brought I think it was 2 dozen of these Easter jars which she had no idea she was getting. She sold all of them but 2 which was great. She just emailed me and said she loves this style pint canning jar with the silver lid and bow on it so much that she is now adding a new style jar to the candles I already to sell to her and she gave me a start off order of 100 candles! Woo hoo for me! i never expected this! Trappeur
  2. You say you are blending 464? What are you blending it with? Trappeur
  3. Hi SE2653 - good to see you here....it's been a while.... I went and checked out the reviews on it and there are lots - all mixed reviews. I don't order from WSP because they are too expensive for me being I sell wholesale to stores.. This is too expensive at 31.95 a pound of oil, but thankyou....Maybe one day I will try it. But thanks. 4. I have a presentation for 2 Southwest stores and am picking out my fragrances I am going to make to bring. I have named this candle "Painted Night Sky"......lol...I know there is a member on this board of that name but I asked eons ago if i could use her name for a candle as i just loved that name, so I am. So now my question is what fragrance comes to your mind of what would be a Painted Night Sky? I was thinking somewhere along the line of a spice? Maybe something like Carmalized Fig and Vanilla Custard? Then I thought about a cinnamon. Cinnamon broom is a year round seller for me. I use Fragrance Buddy's cinnamon broom with some red hot cinnamon stix added to it to kick it up a notch...It's really nice and vibrant and great seller. I don't know...maybe I'm going the wrong direction? Trappeur
  5. Thats exactly what I did Sebleo. On the cursive on I overlayed the scent name with a second line of it. I'll try it again. Now why don't you care for the 2'nd one? Just would like to get your input...That is a western/southwest design. It's different but probably people won't be able to read it that well, right? Trappeur
  6. What tobacco fragrance is your favorite and from where....whether it be a tobacco/vanilla or something other? Trappeur
  7. Oh wow, I've been looking for a replacement for Candle Soylutions lemon cheesecake. Guess I'll look over their site. Thanks Belinda! Trappeur
  8. Ok, take a look at these 3 labels now..... Everyone including me likes the black label which I am going to go with. So far with everyone liking #1 label which I showed in the white font, I have definitely decided to change the white to turquoise which matches the pony. There was something that wasn't hitting me right with the white font. It was really standing too out loud so the turquoise which I'm keeping toned it down a bit and looks great I think I was really hoping that I could go with a script type font as I always like to be different, but no one has selected that type font and the other font really is quite readable so I guess that is the way to go. I made up another label with a really different type font that is like westerny (see #2 label below). I love this font, is very different, a little more hard to read but I can but I don't think anyone is going to like it so tell me what you think???? #1 Font everyone likes but font color now changed to turquoise: #2 Label with a different style font: #3 Label with script font (newfont )ya
  9. Thanking everyone for all your critiques! Keep them coming! So far it looks like number 1 is a favorite.
  10. Hi CandleRush, Oh yes, I am doing the black lid. I ordered some red to see if would like them better also. Trappeur
  11. I'm getting a presentation ready for 2 new just gorgeous Southwest stores/galleries. The same owner owns both of them. I walked in the stores the other day and oh my! Just gorgeous stores with no candles......yet (lol) Hopefully I'll get into both of them as she loved what I told her I did as far as making candles. I went on Facebook and brought up her logos which I have incorporated into the labels....Now I need everyones input once again as I need to get sample pages of these labels and they are having a 50% sale till tomorrow night..so here goes. The one store called "Painted Pony" I did 2 different color ways....1 in an all black label and the other in red. 1. Which label do you like better? The black or the red. 2. Now which font do you like best? The other store called "Red Hands" I did in just the one colorway of black as I didn't like in the red. Any suggestions I should think about on this label that I might need to change? Then I need to concentrate on picking out 2 or 3 jars and I'm really going bonkers on this. What I am going to do is attach a tassel around the neck of the jar with real beadwork hanging off the jar. I put up a couple pictures of what the tassel will look like but a much smaller version. #1 #2 #3 #4 This is the other store called Red Hands Artisan what their label will look like..
  12. I have mine in a primitive 8' cabinet in 1 corner of my dining room. It's all organized by fragrance. I would go bonkers if it wasn't organized. Trappeur
  13. Sarah turned me on to Vanilla Champage. It's awesome. I have a store account that I make a lot of wine scents for and this is one of them. You can actually smell the bubbles. RE Wine by Candlelight is another good one. Flamings Chardonnay is the bomb. You can cut back on this oil. Also their Cabernet Grape is another good one. Trappeur
  14. Most of the oils I buy are between 17.95 and 20.00 or 22.00....Once in a while I pay more than that amount. My cost for figuring it the cost of goods I base it on $20.00 a pound. If I use oil that is more than that I just figure it will all balance out in the end. Being that I sell wholesale to stores I couldn't set prices all different per whatever oil I use. And too it works out in the end also because when I figure out costs to make a candle, I figure the costs of for example a 16Oz canning jar doesn't hold 16 ounces of wax but less closer to 13ounces of wax so I would therefore charge in most cost of goods that I used 1ounce of oil and not the amount for a 13ounce candle so I'm padded a little there on each candle so it all works out in the end. 15. That's what I would have done in all honesty. It's one of those things that you call the cost of doing business. But like I said I wasn't looking for anything free just a fair price for shipping. Quentin, you and I think along the same lines.... Trappeur
  16. Doesn't make any difference.....you can't tell me that 15.00 or 20.00 to ship one lid is acceptable....Plain ludacrest! I didn't ask for anything free...but an "honest" price on the shipping and this certainly wasn't regardless...A padded envelope would have been just fine. An order is an order whether it is for 1 lid or a case of jars..... Trappeur
  17. Thats exactly what I asked of her to put in a padded envelope and she said she couldn't as it has to be boxed up....sigh.... Trappeur
  18. Yep, that's what I'm saying....and Flaming is great on shipping prices...actually one of the very best. Very fair and honest. Trappeur
  19. They may offer free shipping but their bags of wicks are much more expensive like 4.50 more per bag and up. The cd wicks are 5.50 more per bag so I don't consider that a savings of free shipping as they have padded the bags of wicks with the shipping figured in. I thought that was a great deal when I saw free shipping as I was going to order from them, but it isn't, so I just ordered from the regular companies I order from. I dispeize that when I see things like this as a marketing ploy to get you to order from a company and they pull crap like that..... Just have to be careful and price shop. Trappeur
