  1. can I ask what size wick you used?
  2. Ahhh, I see. I thought the UV was mainly for burgundy's , blues and such. I think I will try white dye or titanium dioxide as suggested from Jean. I thought also it was more fo than anything. Noticed it more on vanilla & sugar cooke fo.Thanks again folks!
  3. Would you recomend adding a UV to a white candle to help maintain the white. I ask because some of my cake candles that are sold in stores sometimes turn yellow? I am assuming from the lights or maybe the fo? TIA
  4. Hey there! can I buy some from you? My son is 15 and he has had eczema since he was a baby. Comes with the change of seasons and of course he wont put lotion on!! Such a stubborn age! Thanks for your help as I don't make soaps (yet!)
  5. You make the most impressive soaps ever!!! Makes me want to get back into soap making! Very lovely!!!
  6. HI there! I do make tapers, but not the nice smooth and shiny ones. I have 4 metal molds (makes 6 candles each) that I use, 10" ones. When I first started making them the wick I used was a real PITA to get in the molds. I use one now that I just thread thru by hand and it slides right in. I have sold tons of the grubby/bumpy tapers over the years and am now making the prim ones,(rolled spices, etc) I have a 3 day show coming up this weekend, so I'll let you know how they sell. I never liked making them because of the wicking issue, but not so bad now. HTH
  7. Nice candle! Just an FYI, be sure your wicks don't go to the bottom, those beans will catch a major fire!! Don't ask how I know! LOL
  8. I use the wick pins, a bit costly initially but well worth it in time saving on leaks. I a gob of mold sealer around the bottom of the pin, run it up thru the mold from the bottm and push down on the mold really hard making it nice and level. Never a leak. HTH
  9. well, I took the plunge and bought some 8oz square masons. I really like the look of them and hope my customers will too. I have a big show coming up in March so I will keep you posted. Thanks all for your input!
  10. I saw those the other day and thought the same thing! But then I thought, not another container! LOL
  11. Thanks for the replys. I currently sell the 9 oz & 18 oz cracker jars, but they arent doing as well as I'd hoped. They are a rather costly jar so I think I will go back to my 8 oz jj or the square mason. Thanks for the input!
  12. Hi all, just curious as to what your best selling containers are? Do you sell more of the smaller candles (8 oz) or the larger size? Mainly for craft shows, do you sell more smaller items than large?
  13. Beautiful!!! Is the Palm wax harder to work with than paraffin? I've never tried it but after seeing these I sure want to! Is the price alot more also?
  14. sorry, I'm another math challenged person! LOL Can someone tell me what my percentage of FO is? 16 oz of melted wax and I add 1 oz of FO to that. TIA
  15. Thank you both for your replys~
  16. Hi all, been browsing for a bit and thought I would ask if you have a preference on your mp soap bases (as far as quality & supplier) or do you prefer the cp/hp method. I am considering selling my candle business, cant keep up with it due to some health reasons, but I dont want to completely stop the crafting end so thought I would try B&B for personal use. Kind of tired of candles too! LOL Sorry for all the questions. Appreciate any input. Lucinda:wink2:
  17. Thanks for all of the replys. I have seen some people at craft shows with signs that say no cc trans. under $20.00 I didnt know that was illegal. So glad I havent done that. Good idea about the cash discount though, will have to think about that one. Thanks again for the info!! much appreciated!
  18. Those of you that do take cc, do you somehow recoup the fee from your customers or is that just another expense to your business? I sometimes have very high fees and wonder if its worth it. TIA
  19. Hi Kate! love your candles! I'm in Punxsutawney! Nice to see another PA candlemaker! Lucinda's Country Candles

I can never actually open the program. What am I doing wrong? I'm very computer illiterate, so please help? TIA
