Hi - I have been making candles since 1996. Last year I started making cp soap and bath and body products. I just opened up a candle and gift shop in a small town. I am married and have 4 kids.

  1. I don't use that wax but when I want rustic I put my mold in the freezer and pour I think around 150.
  2. Little Black Dress (can't stand it but it is a very good seller). I just got in a sample of Amish Quilt and I could just eat it. Smells wonderful though. I actually just got through pouring a tester in EZ soy.
  3. I ordered a 50 lb case of wax from BCS and it was only $15.25 for shipping.
  4. Yes - you have to coat them with modge podge. I think I used two coats, but am not sure.
  5. I just joined so reading old post. Anyway, I make chocolate covered strawberries using BCN's strawberry jam and hot fudge brownie. Smells very real. The spa that buys my candles actually is doing chocolate covered strawberry pedicures this month to match my candles and also giving away votives. Of course, she had to locate body safe fo's as the ones I use weren't...
  6. JBN's Black Raspberry Vanilla AromaHaven's Lavender BCS- Sex on the Beach BCN Verbena Berry, Twigs & Berries, Wildberry Zinger Tea I am testing new wicks and this is why I have so many burning at once...UGH! Yesterday I orders some fragrances from Nature Garden and I hope they have a good hot and cold throw - Butt Naked, Monkey Farts and Butterfly Hugs.
  7. I use the HTP 31's and they work great with my soy wax - thanks to a great lady from another board.
  8. I have been asked to make pie candles for the spa that carries my container candles. The lady buys the pie candles from some big company out of state. She sells the pies by the whole or slice. She also sells a metal pie slice shaped container to burn the slices in. I have been searching the internet for days and cannot find these anywhere. I am wanting to put them in my store when I perfect the pies so was wondering if any of ya'll have seen these. I have also seen instructions where you wrap the outside of your pie slice to burn them but I just don't like the idea of that. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Guess I could always ask her where she gets them and I know she will tell me, but I just was hoping some of ya'll would know. I think I have also seen them in ceramic. Hey, if I can find a ceramic mold maybe I can make them...hmmm. Off now to search ceramic molds...
  9. I haven't successfully got the burn right for palm wax either, but I have heard several people say they had luck with the lx wicks. I know a lot that use the rd series, but I tried them and they blew out on me. Never tried anything below a 37 though.
