  1. I have gotten to the point I put blinders on and just pay attention to whats going on at my own booth. The others are usually quite friendly or the odd one you get walking by quite often looking at your booth lol. I just bring the best product for my customers I have and give them all my attention. I really like the idea of a book showing you making your product.
  2. I use cyclo as the base for the spray, I mix it with fo. It is quite popular.
  3. I really like my sprays with cyclo and fo . I find with the roller bottles I need a little oil with the cyclo or they flow too freely when they are put on. I haave heard jojoba is nice but I use fractionated coconut oil.
  4. do you have access to shea butter at all? It is a softer butter.
  5. I did a party at my sisters. I find they are great, people really tend to buy. I mostly did just cash and carry. When people came in I gave them a gift type bag to shop with . These are what I give my customers their purchases in. I find since they had the bag they could buy more then if they were juggling them. Good luck!
  6. Those are gorgeous! I just love the flame from beeswax candles.
  7. Sounds like you did good for your first one. Some shows you sit there with no customers anywhere wondering what the heck?? I find too you get quite a few sales from other vendors but if they aren't making any money they aren't buying either.
  8. Yes that smell stays with you forever! I had bought a box of shea that was discounted because they were closing, when I finally opened it OMG! I'm still trying to figure out how to get rid of it. I think we become more sensitive to smells too.
  9. So true Carol. The kids always ask when I'm burning one " what smells like honey?"
  10. Thanks! I was surprised at how the colour changed after I filtered it. I have some floater poinsettia molds so it should colour nicely for Christmas.
  11. Hi everyone! I have been making beeswax candles for a bit now and have done lots of testing. Boy does it take a while to burn down the candles. We have our own bees but only 8 hives so we don't get a tonne of wax. I bought some off someone local and have cleaned it a bit more to be extra clean. It is a lot lighter since I have cleaned it. Do you find that is just as desirable to customers? Is there a way to clean it that is doesn't lighten? Thanks!! Angela
  12. I use it to for my feet since I enjoy going barefoot way too much. I was selling a small package for feet and people were buying them with my foot butter.
  13. Here is a picture of some i made aparently the little hut needs a bit off the bottom! lol I was at the art store and they have stuff to make a mold but it would cost as much as buying a new mold. Has anyone seen the ones from germany available here? Thanks for all the great suggestions! Angela
  14. Thanks! I will post some pictures. It is ripped across the top where the wick fits in, I did use the elastics but pulled too tight and ended up with an odd shape! lol I'll remelt and try again.
  15. I'll let you know if I do find something. I have looked and the molds are fairly expensive so it would be nice to be able to fix it.
  16. Hello! I am fairly new to candle making. I bought a bunch of silicone molds off a retired beekeeper to make beeswax candles. They are great molds, they brought them home from Germany. I have a few that have been well used and are starting to tear, does anyone know a way to repair them? I want to catch it before it rips right across the top. The one has a lily of the valley on it. Thanks so much! It seems so fun making the beeswax candles!
  17. I use what proud marine mom posted a picture of. It is amazing. If you have a resteraunt supply near you they have them. Along with other interesting things. If the lotion is thicker you can cut the tip off a bit to make the hole larger.
  18. I bought some wooden shelves from Canadian Tire here when they were on sale. They have 3 shelves and sit on the table. The sides fold in and the shelves fold up for easy transport and they look quite nice. A lot of the shows I do I get 1 8foot table and it gets harder to find room for all my stuff. This is nice because it goes up. I also use hat boxes from winners ( your TJ Max) to raise up off the table. I'll see if I can find a picture later. My last show I had some gift sets for the first time, in a pinch I took one of my 4 inch deep containers and covered it with some extra netting, put it upside down and had a nice surface. Angela
  19. Hey Jen, I just wanted to say congradulations on the expansion, sounds like things are going great!
  20. Those are so adorable! I hope you sell lots. I've got a bunch of those tubes too, haven't gotten around to figuring out the labeling. Angela
  21. The dollar store , If you are in the US I think it is dollar tree had some boxes in the bags section that were for wine bottles. It might be a nice size for you.
  22. Thats rotten! I like Judy's idea of writing a letter to the editor. There are so many shows that are letting in such crap and products that aren't locally made. I'm really lucky this season, all my shows are very locally geared and they don't let in stuff that isn't hand made.
  23. I find I don't jar mine the same day. I melt everything together and mix on and off. I cover over night and it tends to harden up somewhat. I then beat it again with my mixer and you get a nice fluffier mixture. Jar up and you are ready to go! Angela
  24. For a Christmas show one year I did up the little organza bags with a little pot of lip balm, a little pot of glitter gel and I made a couple of little heartshaped soaps with a little glitter and scented with berry. The kids loved them. I even had an adult order them for a cookie swap to have at each persons spot. Those I put a mini lotion too.
  25. Thats where I have bought any of mine. They always come quickly and well packaged. The prices seem good too.
