  1. The are almost exact to my nose. I use them interchangeably.
  2. Just wondering what type of craft show inventory you all take to shows. I found out about this show last minute, so I'm going to be working late for the rest of the weekend and the week. It's a 2 day show and supposed to have a decent amount of traffic (I have no idea of exact amount). I've already invited everyone from my "real" job with invitations and coupons, so I hope to at least make my booth fee back ($125) I do candles, and have some jewelry items. No other extras. Any idea of what amount of items I should bring? I hope it's not too hot, supposed to be low 80's..so the candles should be ok.
  3. I agree with Satin on research and reading....never stop researching and reading. You learn something new every day! On top of that...I think the best way to start out is to set your limits. Don't try to do everything at once. Decide on what wax and wicks you want to use. Use ONE type jar and a FEW scents at first. Test Test Test. Once you get that jar perfected, you can start selling that one and then consider adding a different style or size.
  4. I use popsicle sticks. Just stir the wax a few times, and let it set up.
  5. Are the candles still burning correctly? (Are your wicking properties the same?) Is the scent throw still good? If so, then I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's just one of the natures of soy....differs from batch to batch, no two are ever alike. Just let your customers know that it's part of loving soy! LOL I've learned to over look things like this as long as the scent still rocks, and my wicking is the same!
  6. Good Luck! Can't wait to see the pics!
  7. Not his fragrances, but he has awesome prices on dyes!!
  8. I used to be a Yank** fanatic. Now that I make my own also, I see how inconsistent they are. Although, I do have to say they are better than Beanpod and Salt City IMHO. I could never get a Salt City to burn all the way to the sides of the jar, and the Beanpods smell like rotten gym socks to me. I don't know if it is the wax, or something that doesn't agree with me. Has anyone tried the Circle E candles or what's the other ones that start with a C?? (For the life of me right now I can't remember!!! UGH! Don't you hate that???)
  9. I guess what I'm really asking is....well..I don't know...lol If you use soy wax in soap..what properties does it bring to the soap? It doesn't make it lather...what is the purpose? What would you add it in lip balm for? Is there any place you can find recipes for these items with soy wax???
  10. to make bath and body? I was thinking of adding a bath and body soy line to my products, I know you have to use cosmetic grade wax...but exactly what can you create? TIA!
  11. am kicking around the idea of doing some MP...can anyone tell me who has the best MP bases? TIA!
  12. Ok everyone, I finally got the guts to try my first bath and body..it seemed easy enough...lol...I did the easy Milk Bath recipe. Now I'm going to package in a cello bag and tie with a ribbon, but I'm curious as to how much to put per bag...I know the common use is 2-3 Tbsp per bath, but how much do you put in a bag? 1 cup? Or do you do it by weight?? And how much do you sell them for? I was thinking $5, but with all those ingredients...lol...I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how much one batch of ingredients will make and x by 3...lol..HELP!
  13. It's true! It doesn't show up until later on....

  15. www.planetlabel.com also has ivory labels that look a lot like parchment.
