  1. I have tried it without the poly or emulsyfing wax just FO and the base that combination totally separates. Today I made a batch and cut back on the FO and mixed it like there was no tomorrow. I will let that set until morning and see what happens.
  2. It's a liquid hand soap base that they tell me all I need to do is add my FO and any additives I want and it's good to go. But it is not working. It lathers great, feels good after you've dried your hands but after it sits for a day the first pump is watery. Which means there is a thin layer of water on the bottom of the bottle.
  3. It's happening with multiple FO's. Have you used this base from SOS?
  4. Has anyone used the liquid hand soap base from Save on Scents? I have been trying to come up with the correct recipe with this base and just when I think I've got it right it falls apart. I mix my FO, Polysorbate 20, soap and additives all together and let it sit over night. The next day the first pump out of the bottle is water. Obviously there is seperation from some where but I can't figure it out. I've tried Emulsyfing Wax but that made the soap stick to the sides of my clear bottle (not very attractive). This is a soap base that is ready to go - no cooking it. Any suggestions will be very appreciated.
  5. Lone Star no longer makes their Molasses fragrance oil. Does anyone have a suggestion for a replacement? Thanks!
  6. Check out NG Clean crisp air. I have had both and I think they are very similiar if not the same thing. IMO
  7. a great source of names is wikipedia online. put in myrhh (for example) Where does it come from? Whats it used for? What ethnic people use it? What is its history? What does it smell like? Lots of possibilities for names. Try googleing it also
  8. What kind of wax and wick are you using? container or pillar? How much FO?
  9. Save on Scents has a Mochaccino that is great! Intense chocolate with a bit of coffee. Very strong in 4627 and Palm. Not too sweet either. Im talking about the basic strength not the ultra or extreme that they offer.
  10. IMO: SOS coconut- I though had a graham cracker smell SOS vanilla coconut- nice CS coconut- has a pineapple smell General Wax- major chemical smell JS coconut-has a slight "perfumy" smell that I think has an upscale? scent to it maybe a little feminine? There might be better coconut out there i just prefer this one.
  11. 4627 comfort blend in colored jars or tins (because of wet spots) No heating jars, no using heat gun, etc. Great CT & HT Although: more soot than soy and can turn to soup in the back of a UPS truck in Aug.
  12. I use it in palm and it throws great. You are right it is a nice scent. I went through 3 other coconuts before i settled on this one. Good luck.
  13. Alabaster's Peach Mango Salsa is awesome. I use it in 444 soy and 4627 blend with Eco wicks and pa pow it is strong! You wont be disappointed.
  14. Try: Save on Scents They have tons of different single FOs I think you will find many of what you are looking for. My 2 cents of advice is dont pay for the upgrade in a fragrance there until you like the basic one. I have found that some of the basic fragrances smell great (good CT and HT) without paying for an upgrade to the ultra or extreme concentrations.
  15. If you can't find a leather that you're happy with, you could try either JBN or Peak's Leather. I can only say that they are strong and smell like the real thing. I have only used these in wax not soap.
  16. Passionfruit and Guava from Peaks is good I used it in Feathering Palm and has good cold and hot throw
  17. I prefer the ECOs. It really gets fun choosing which wick to use when you put more than one ounce of fragrance (I know it can handle that) in a pound of wax. The cold/hot throw rocked but I was not happy with the smoking and soot. Good ole 4627 you either hate it or love it! Ha
  18. I have been working with Palm 3 wax with metal pillar molds/wickpins and I have used 2 different Vanilla FO's from two different companies and every time I pour the scent in the mold it turns into an overpowering burnt metal smell. I poured at 200 deg. and I have poured as low as 150 degrees. It is not my pour pan or molds they smell fine, and I have made other batches in them no problems. The oils smell great out of the bottle. I guess it would seem that I have bad FO's but one of the oils is directly from a manufacturer. Anyone have any ideas?
