  1. Ooh, thanks for letting me know. I will have to fix that.
  2. You put in a pillar candle mainly. There are some pillars that are rectangular shape that you can put in the longer candle boxes with a glass candle holder at the bottom to protect the wood. A normal pillar would suffice for the taller or smaller boxes. We are still working on making a small enough box for a votive. I will see what i can do about the picture size. If I've posted before sorry, its been a while since I've been on the message boards.:embarasse We can stain or paint them for you if you wish for us to do that, I think we have a button for stained or unstained, need to recheck that one. As for the sizing of oz on my B&B product, the software i use would make it look like it was 9lbs rather than 9oz if i put the 9 in 9.00 spot. don't know why it happens that way. still trying to fix that one.
  3. Does anyone else sell candle boxes? My dh makes them, wonderful looking boxes, he takes whatever image you give him- within reason of course, and cuts out the design. He does a wonderful job and we have had many show interest but only a small percentage have bought them. Any ideas how to get more business?
  4. I'll be doing consignment here shortly and would love some advice from those that have done this before. I live in a small town called Rochester,WA. Anyways I have had my business since 2002, but its only been selling small quantities, except the occasional wholesale order. I would really love to hear from those that live in small towns who have been doing well, I need some ideas on how to get my business out there. We have magnets on our car to advertise our business, we've done farmer's markets before and a holiday show once as well. We have a website, and we feel our prices are within reason. Help please.
  5. thanks for the replies, dh and i will figure out a price sooner or later. :smiley2:
  6. We are in a bit of a quandry about what a 5lb 12oz candle would cost in normal stores. Its a round 6x5 pillar, 3 wick candle. Any ideas? We just want to come up with a decent price for our customers.
  7. I am wanting to take soap making classes, anyone know of any in my area?
  8. Thanks so much for everyone's feed back. If ya know anyone who wants one let me know. lol Take care, Julie
  9. Ok, my dh makes wonderful wood centerpieces to put candles in. My question is does anyone actually want these? You have to always put something underneath the candles to protect the wood. He cuts out designs either from a stencil or he does it free hand, then puts the centerpiece together. Sometimes he stains it, sometimes not. Please take a look at the ones we have pics of on our site, and let me know what you think. We have sold a few in the past but still would like to sell more often.
  10. ok i feel stupid asking this but , do you heat the ingredients together then pour into molds? never done this before, looks easy and just might try making it.
  11. Thanks soo much. I will write down all of your advice and talk with dh about it. Thank you for the compliments on the site. We have done farmers markets before, need to find another one here since we just moved here a couple months ago. I will try to get pics of my products to replace the ones with molds included.

  17. Ok DH and I are trying to figure the best way to approach local florists and churches for our candles, and so far have hit a brick wall. We got some feed back from friends and family but its how to introduce ourselves and how to start it out that we are stuck. Anyone have any ideas or examples that we can so to speak run with and put in our own words of course. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.
