  1. Thank you. When the grandkids saw them they wanted to eat them and it was a big let down when they found out they were candles.
  2. Thank you for the compliment. They were fun to make and maybe I just got lucky but there is always room for improvment. Thanks again
  3. I never tried posting pictures before so I hope this works. These are some of my first. I never tried cupcakes before. What do you think.
  4. It gets really cold out there on that porch so I guess I won't take a chance of loosing what I have so I better find a warmer place to keep it. Just to much money tied up in it. Thank you for all your help. Bob
  5. I have all my supplies stored in a heated room right now but need to move them because I need to make space in that room. So my question is if I move my supplies to an unheated enclosed porch do I need to worry about my FO freezing? Thank You Bob
  6. I want to try my hand at making cinnomin rolls and would like to know if someone could tell me what color dyes to mix to get them to look like cinnomin rolls. Thank you for any help.
  7. I just bought some of these snowman jars from Pier 1. They are 8" tall with a clear glass hat. I paid $3.00 each for them. Hope this helps. Bob
  8. When I read this post I thought what the heck I will give it a try. Well never again. What a mess. It came out OK and smells great and the war party liked it but once is enough. I will stick to candles for now. Bob
  9. It looks like one of those situations where I have to play around with temp and see what works best and with the help of you folks maybe I can get thru this ok. Is vybar something that I need to use all the time or is this something special that you use on special waxes? Bob
  10. Thank you for the reply. Where should I start at the low end? Should I go hot to blend my FO's and then let it cool down or go low and mix my FO's? Bob
  11. I was wondering what makes a candle wrinkle on top. I poured a heart shaped candle and this morning when I got up it had all kinds of wrinkles on top. I did a search and only found the problem with soy wax. I used Yaley glass fill wax with Red Hot Cinnamon and pured at around 160. I did take the heat gun to it and it seems like it helped but I have not had this problem before so I was just wondering if it was something I did wrong or was it just a fluke. I hope I gave you enough info. Remember I am still stupid at this.
  12. Does anyone know where I can get an FO called Angel Kiss? Candle Lite sold this candel but took it off the market. I had a friend ask me about it. I get my FO's from Nature's Garden but they don't have it. I checked Peak with no luck also. Maybe it is one of those top secert FO's. Bob
  13. Well I took everyones advice and got rid of the cocoa mix and bought differant wicks and wax and tried again and guess what happened. They came out great for a newbie:D . They burn great and smell wonderful and it would not have happened without everyones help. So now I will keep reading and move on and hope to get better at it. Thank you all so much.
  14. Now that sounds like a great idea. I knew someone out there could help me out. I will give it a try and let you all know how it came out and I want to thank all of you for your help. Have a Merry & Safe Christmas
  15. Ok I guess I made a big mistake with the cocoa mix but how can I get it to look like a cup of hot chocolate. Sorry that I am dumb at this.
  16. The type of wax I am using is Paraffin Wax general purpose, The wicks are 9" Pre-waxed Medium Wire Wick, The FO is Hot Cocoa and I only put in about an 1/8 oz. for a 1/2 pd of wax, Temp is about 170 degs. and yes I did put in Swiss Miss Milk Chocolate with marshmallows mix and the cups are clean and I did not touch the inside.
  17. Hi ya all this is my first post and I hope someone can answer a question for me. I just started making candles and the first one I made was using a coffee cup that I used for a mold and I melted the wax and mixed in hot chocolate mix with little marshmellows and added some cocoa fragerance and stuck a cinninon stick in to make it look like a cup of hot chocolate with a straw. It looks neat but the problem I am having is that when the candle burns it will only burn a hole about the size of a quarter and the flame drowns out. What am I doing wrong? Thank You
