  1. Hi, I've been using Accu-soy 10 from Swans. California Candle Supply also sells Accu-Soy 10 as well. Does anyone know if they are pretty much the same in terms of quality? I want to purchase Accu-Soy 10 from California Candle Supply b/c they live more near me than Swans, but I'm afraid that their Accu-Soy 10 might be slightly different than Swans.
  2. I agree with everyone. I've tested with ecosoya advanced and the hot throw is non-existent. The cold throw is good, but once I light the candle, the scent disappears. In my opinion, any wax's hot throw is better than Ecosoya advance hot throw.
  3. Hi, forgot to mention that there are three pictures on the web...if you don't scroll down long enough you may think there is only one. Thanks.
  4. Hello, Thank you everyone for your help and input. I apologize for not posting the pictures sooner. Because my pictures are so big in size I wasn't able to attach them directly on here. So, here is the link to that will allow you to view them on the web. http://www.sweetlyloved4.blogspot.com/ Thank you again for all your help and I will take into consideration all of your great ideas/feedback and let you know how it turns out.
  5. Hi Chris, Yes, I'm sealing my wick tabs with wax. I'm just baffled and confused on what I'm doing wrong. Maybe I didn't let it cool long enough? I let it cooled for about 24 hours. Thanks for your help.
  6. Stella, TL (I think they stand for Tea light) wicks are from Candle Science. I usually use them for tea lights as well. I burnt the floating candles for only about 30 minutes and then they started to have slight cracks. After 45 minutes or so the flames were extinguished because water seeped in. So, the walls of the floating candles are pretty thick. Thanks again for your help!
  7. Hi Stella, I dont' have photos yet, but I will try to take some and post it up here. Basically, I made three different types of floaters: tart shaped, heart shaped, and leaf shaped. All of them when floated in the water cracked on the side and their flames were extinguished by the seeping water. I used TL 15. Would the wick have anything to do with cracking of the floaters? Thanks for your help!
  8. Hello, I'm making floating candles using ecosoya Pillar Blend. When I light them and float them in a bowl of water, they start to slightly crack on the sides (the cracks are usually so thin you can barely see them) and water slowly seeps in and extinguishes the flame. Do you know how I can prevent the cracks from occurring? or have you had this happen to your floating candles before. TIA!
  9. Hello! Can you anyone recommend a really good Sandalwood Fragrance that will throw well in a soyblend wax? Thanks so much!!
  10. Hi everyone, I'm looking for a Pineapple-Mango fragrance oil that's similar to Bath and Body works' (the description for Bath and Body Pineapple-Mango fragrance is: a sunny, tropical scent of sweet pineapple, luscious mango, crisp lotus and a hint of warm vanilla). Does anyone know who would sell a fragrance similar to that and would throw good in parasoy wax? Thanks so much for your help!!
  11. lol...just last week at work I saw a man in a UPS uniform deliver some stuff to us and he walked out to his Budget Truck. I thought it was so funny too. My co-workers and I were laughing. We thought maybe his UPS truck broke down or something but then we saw him the next day and the day after that with his Budget Truck.
  12. I used to use Ecosoya CB Advanced but the hot and cold throw was not great at all. Even the fragrance oils that were tested on soy and were supposed to work well in soy did not even work in Ecosoya Advanced. However, I have great experience with Ecosoya Pillar Blend is great though but I would never go back to Ecosoya Advanced, I was pulling my hair out with that wax.
  13. Does anyone know if Frostop is still available? I looked on the Barnes Loft Candles website and they said to check back mid-October and it won't be available until then. I tried to email them but no response . Thanks everyone!
  14. Hi everyone, I've been using ecosoya cb advanced and lx wicks. When I re-light my candles there is a sort of crackling sound that comes from the wick for 1 or 2 seconds. Has anyone ever experienced this? This is so weird to me. Thanks for all your help. You guys are the best!
  15. Thank you so much everyone! You have been such a huge help to me!! I love this website:yay:
  16. Hi everyone. Okay, this is probably a very stupid question but I'm new to candle making. My first question is how much fragrance oil should I use for one pound of soy wax (some people suggested 7%?). Second, how does one measure the 7% of fragrance oil? do you measure it in a tablespoon (...is it 7% of a one ounce fragrance bottle) I'm so confused. Thanks everyone for your help!:smiley2:
  17. Hi, Does anyone know how to create or know of a company that creates labels to go around the top of a glass container? I think it looks really pretty but don't know how to do it or get it. I have a picture below (picture from www.vzcandles.com). Thanks for your help.
  18. Wrong forum to post thread. See Business Side of Things
  19. Hi CareBear, Yes, I did burn it in a votive holder. Hi Stella1952, I don't have a picture of it yet. But, it's basically a small melted hole on the side of the candle and wax starts dripping out from the hole. Thanks so much for all your help.
  20. Hi, I'm new to candlemaking. I used ecosoya PB (Pillar Blend) wax and made some votive candles. When I poured the wax everything looked great. However, when I test burned my votives, my candles would burn for about an hour and then it burn/leak a hole on the side and wax would spill out. Does anyone know if this is a wax issue or a wick issue (am I using the wrong wick or is the wax quality poor)? Thanks so much for your help!
