  2. Those are really nice......bet they smell great too
  3. very nice.....I really like the look of the honey soap. Did you use the honey m&p base? Did you add color? Sheli
  4. Oh I feel your pain!!!! I wish I could help but I have never worked with soy. I have been making candles since 2007 and there are a few scents that I just love but for the life of me I can't find the right wick for that scent. I sure that someone who has worked with the wax you are using will chime in and point you in the right direction.....you came to the right place. Just don't give up you will get it, thats one thing about this business you have to test, retest and test again. Good luck in your candlemaking journey.....
  5. Butt Naked has always been a best seller for me except when I changed the name......I couldn't give it away. I my case the name is what sells it, just something to think about.
  6. Great recipes in this thread!!! http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?90126-M-amp-P-Recipes&highlight=
  7. Pink Sugar Butt Naked J&J Bedtime Bath......soaps beautifully too!!!!! Pomegranate
  8. You can make bath bombs without slsa.....no bubbles but still a very good product.
  9. Ocean Mist from Cajun Candles is a very nice fo. It has that beach smell without the florals, but more of a green scent. It is great in salt bars and candles.
  10. What about the black......mine always ends up looking a little grey, dark grey but grey? Oh by the way AWESOME soap!!!!!!
  11. The fast trace could have something to do with your recipe. For example if you use a high precentage of olive oil in your receipt you will not reach trace as fast as you would if used a high precentage of plam oil. Just some advice, until you get more familiar with your oils and how they react I would not use the stick blender JMO. As for the color, it just depends on what you use some morph to different colors, some you need more of some you need less. My soap base is not white it is more of a yellow and I have never had a blue turn green, but thats just me I can't speak for everyone else. Just a little something else, test, test, test.......you gonna hear that alot. Welcome to my addiction Sheli
  12. Those are just too cute!!!! Great jobsanta cool
  13. You need to use clear soap base, black oxide should give you a true black if you use a clear base.
  14. I like!!!! I will be working on some m&p tomorrow. I have never tried to do swirl in m&p I'm still trying to get it right in cp. I love making soap.....I just wish I had more time to devote to the craft. Good Luck at your show this weekend.
  15. Almond from Brambleberry is the same as KY's Oatmeal Milk & Honey I have used both and they perform the same.
  16. Very nice looks like a pumpkin patch! Cute Cute Cute
  17. Soaping is trial and error just like candles......I'm sure your first candle wasn't the candle you are selling today. lol. Everyone has a different way of doing things it's whatever works for you and you will find that if you don't give up. I agree with others after you let it cure you should have a good soap. IMO it may be that you added your fo to your warm oils......I always add at a light trace. If I know a fo will accelerate on me I warm my fo in the mic. BE CAREFUL with this because oil gets very hot quick in the mic......about 30 sec is fine depending how much fo you are using. When I add my fast moving fo I throw out the stick blender and grab the spoon. I find the process is slowed down if I follow these steps. Each oil has different properties, some oils add hardness to the bar while other add bubbles. I studied the information on the soap calculator web site. If you go the Much More drop down box and click on the Soap Qualities this will give you a better understanding of different qualities you can bring to your bar of soap. After getting to know soap qualitites go to the Other Calculations and then Sort Oils and if you want a bar that more bubbly then click on Lauric and you can find the oils that give you the most bubbles. I hope this information helps : ) Here is a link to the soap calculator web site http://www.soapcalc.net/default.asp
  18. I did not get the pumpkin lager but I did get the oatmeal stout and the honey ale. They are both awesome. Sheli
  19. I have never seen m&p swirl like that GREAT JOB!!!!
  20. They do have to sign a contract and when they start out they dont make any profit off of the warmers only the tarts. You have to be kinda high on the selling ladder to make anything off the warmers. Thats why we get the evil eye when they see us with our high quality low cost tarts:cheesy2: And thats why they tell their customers that you can only use scentsy tarts in their warmers.
  21. I made some of those last weekend.......they look so yummy! I also did some of the honey ale, my work room smells like honey ale and the foam on top was fun to make. Sheli
  22. You have to use a silicone mold with a shiny finish. I have never did tarts this way but I have done soap. My silicone molds with a matte finish produce a dull soap and the mold with the shiny finish produce a shiny soap. IMO it would be the same with tarts. Sheli
