Thanks - I was hoping I wouldn't have to, especially since they had never even been opened - I have thrown away an unbelievable amount of old FOs - I am trying to inventory just what I have so I can figure out exactly what I need - the "need list" is gonna be long I am afraid

have been going through boxes trying to figure out what I still have and what I need to get again - I came across a box of TKB liquid dyes that I had ordered right before I shattered the wrist and gave up playing with the wax and m&p - these are all unopened and about 3-4 years old - are they still good do you think or should I bite the bullet and trash them and order more?

I agree with everyone above that keeping a notebook is definately a must -but in addition to that you (and everyone else) might just want to back that notebook up somewhere - once upon a time when I broke up with one of my girlfriends my notebooks mysteriously "vanished" and never turned up - so maybe going back through your written notes every so often and putting them on the puter might not be a bad idea

I was fortunate enough to be able attend the IGCA Spring in the Ozarks Candle Workshop this past weekend in Eureka Springs - This was the second time I was able to attend this annual workshop and I have to say that, once again it was nothing short of awesome! There were about 20 people from 4 or 5 states in attendance and the knowledge that was shared once again just blew me away It had been several years since I was able to attend the first one, but I was treated like an old friend from the moment I first stepped into the room This workshop is very informal with the attendees sharing their vast knowledge (I have to say that about all I shared was my ignorance, but most of these folks are unbelievable, some with 30+ years in the art of candle-making so there was plenty to be learned) These chandlers are more than happy to answer specific questions on just about anything you can come up with, no matter how stupid those questions might be (and that last part is aimed directly at me - I promise you that I can come up with some pretty stupid stuff) If you ever get the chance to attend you will forever regret it if you don't take advantage of it - I promise that in addition to coming away with some great new knowledge and hands on experience, you will also come away with some new friends (You will come away with a few extra pounds also because the food that is furnished as part of the workshop is fantastic!) and if you have the chance, you will want to attend the IGCA Convention that is going to be held July 13-15 in Amana, Iowa - This year's convention is being put on by Alice Marquardt - some of you may know her and I am positive that many of you have heard of her, she knows her stuff! The convention is 3 days of hands-on workshops with a lot of sharing and meeting fellow chandlers and most of the folks that were at the Eureka workshop will be there also - From what I heard this past weekend, it is going to be a lot like the workshop was - It is not going to be huge, but rather will have small workshops and will be a chance to get to know some folks from around the country as you learn a bit here and there - As soon as I get released back to work I will be turning in some vacation time If you want some more info on the convention - http://www.igca.net/

I watched 3 different parts of this little series they did on her (There was another part also where this guy doing it says something like by doing this series they are going to double her sales within 30 days or something like that but I didn't watch all of that one) From what I could see she is using a basic bought M&P base just like all of us are doing here (She says she gets it in 50 lb boxes) and then adds GM, oils etc and makes up what she calls her own "base" 20 lbs at a time (again pretty much just like all of us are doing only we aren't doing it 20 lbs at a time) she then will remelt her base with additives in smaller batches and adds whatever EOs and colorants she wants and pours for individual bars

As I mentioned sometime earlier I made over 200 bars of soap and gave them to my co-workers for Christmas among some other things I made - I used the EBC white base with a few additives and they all loved them A number of them have been wanting to buy more even though I still have not sold anything I have made (Just tonight I had a couple people bugging me to make more as a matter of fact lol) Ya know, I am beginning to think that just possibly maybe I am sort of starting to do one or two things right

I think this is what you are asking - just ignore me (like everyone else already does) if it isn't At Christmas I wanted to make up a bunch of name tags for gifts that of course had different names on them - I made each one seperately using PSP and Printmaster then saved them as a graphic I then used an online Avery template from here - http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Templates-&-Software This let me set up each label (Actually they were the business card sheets I was using like a hang tag but it is the same difference) on the page as a different one and I printed the entire sheet at one run through on my laser printer

I have a question for some of you web gurus I am not quite ready to start a site but have a name that I want to register for future use I have not researched fully which host I would use when the time comes but I want to go ahead and register my domain name - to insure I will have it when I am ready Unless I am mistaken, some places will register the name but technically they own it not you - as long as you are letting them host your site you are ok - but if you go with someone else there can be a problem I guess my question is this - Where can I register my name so that it is mine and I have it when I am ready for it? thanks

I'm sure I haven't done this as much as all ya'll have but I have melted quite a bit in the microwave over the last few years and especially the last month or so - and haven't had one explode or break yet I imagine the main reason for this could be because I am a bit paranoid about this very issue lol I generally only melt anything for one minute at a time and as it is getting closer to being fully melted I cut back to 30 second intervals at a time - Takes longer probably but that's the way I was told to do it back when I first started playing with lip balms and have stuck with it ever since
