  1. ok did some earlier today...i'll burn on Saturday and make sure to take pics and post!
  2. I was just using the term that the company I bought that from use....I guess just because of the straight edges that they refer to it as 'votive'...but it holds 7oz (pic below)....it's 2.75" in diameter and 3.5 in height. I tested with HTP-83 and HTP-93 and C-70 and C-75 cotton core. Maybe my cure time was way to short too...I doubt it was even 24 hrs (can u tell I was impatient). I'm thinking that maybe a main contributing factor... Like I said...I'm new to this side of the board when it comes to soy and containers in general...so I was not even certain of the cure time. I just made another batch and will try to leave it until Sunday at least Winsome
  3. Thanks Vicky...approx 15- 16 hrs right now...it's a 7oz votive tumbler
  4. Ok....maybe the question wasn't worded right...I don't want to find out how much of each additive u put in or anything....not trying to steal any recipes lol...just wanted to know since it's pure 100% soy wax...can it be mixed with anything?
  5. Hey guys, I'm new to this side of the board. Just started making containers with EcoSoya Container Blend Advanced Soy Wax. So far I've had amazing results with scent throw and wicking with HTP...my question is this...how do I lengthen (sp) burn time....can I use additives in this was like UA, vybar or stearic? Looking forward to the responses! Thanks so much in advance for your help! Winsome
  6. Hey All, I have not posted in quite a while now....but I have a quick question. Do any of you know of any companies that make custom metal molds? I know Pourette does/did but i haven't been able to access their website for sometime now and I can't get through to the numbers from their catalog. I'd really appreciate any suggestions. TIA Winsome

  19. Hey guys...just got my soap stuff from BCN yesterday and have made 2 soaps. The 1st one is scented Oatmeal, Milk and Honey...I put some oats in there for the look (and exfoliant too...right??) The 2nd one is Lavender...I doubt u can see it but it's a very pale shade of purple...that third pic is the underside of the lavender with the seed/buds...thought i had mixed enough for it to be cool and distributed evenly...but no luck with that..i'll try again soon though Thanks for viewing!!! Winsome
  20. that was a duh question huh....Thanks alot!!
  21. Another not too smart question here. :undecided ..I see where some persons use cooling racks and allow their soaps to cure....Does this also apply to MP?...after slicing or removing from a mold does it need to go on a rack...and is there a curing time for it? TIA Winsome
  22. Thanks so much for your help...now why did i not wait to read this before i placed my order . I didn't order a loaf mold thinking....oh i'll just pick one up in a store!!...anyway...I did order a couple of other molds ... Thanks again!! Can't wait!!!!!
  23. Hey guys, I've decided to venture into soapmaking...it seems like a natrual progression once you do candles :rolleyes2 . I've been going through the soap section discussion board for a couple of days now and i'm about to place an order with BCN, mostly the regular opaque mp and just about 4lbs of the clear (not really a fan of the clear...but just want to play with it anyway :rolleyes2 ....what I want to know is this...approx how many lbs does the small loaf tin hold..or what's the average amount of bars I can get form 1LB of soap base? I don't want to order too little to play with ....but I also don't want to order too much right away for the first order. TIA:) Winsome I am sssoooooo excited ...u have no idea!!!
