  1. Thanks, everybody, for all the suggestions. I appreciate it.
  2. This is my first time trying votive pins. I am getting ready to take the candle out. My question is do you use a wick tab and then use a heat gun? Thanks!
  3. Thanks, Donita, I use 1.5 oz per pound. I have never used the sternic. I am new to pillars and I was just going by the instructions. I will buy some sternic and see if that helps. Do you think the amount of FO I am using is too much for the rustic candles?
  4. I just tried the rustic pillars today and mine turned out somewhat greasy on the outside. I did not use any mold spray. Anybody have any suggestions?
  5. So, you must add your scent and color to the pot? I was going to continue to pour from a pitcher and mix there. I have always done containers and now I am going to try pillars, chunk candles and votives. I am open for any helpful hints. Got my order from Candle Science today and my order from Peaks will be here Monday. Can't wait to try something new.
  6. Everybody has been so helpful. Thanks for the replies. I am wondering now about the spigot. We bought 2 sets last night and all the hardware cost about $30. I am used to a large melting pot and it has a heating element in the pour area to melt the wax. Are you all having trouble with the wax not melting in the spigot? If so, what are you doing?
  7. Thanks, Lauchie, The instructions say under tools needed a 19/32" Drill bit. My husband was going to try the 3/8", but I wanted what the instructions said. I have a 100 lb melter that takes for ever to heat up 20 lbs. That's why I wanted to try the Presto Kettle. We bought 2 tonight. I appreciate your reply.
  8. We have been to Lowe's, Home Depot and Ace Hardware and they all told us there is not a 19/32" drill bit made. Can anyone tell us where they got theirs? Thanks!
  9. Thanks! What part of Georgia? Do you know where to buy IGI wax in Georgia?
  10. Yes, we are north-east of Atlanta. Do you use zinc wics with the IGI wax you use? I am all of a sudden getting mushrooms. I thought I would try the soy wax and see what happens.
  11. Thanks so much! I just tried it and it is very helpfull.
  12. Hello, Grama, We just moved from Smyrna to Mableton. I have used IGI-6006 for at least 5 years. I am just now having trouble with the zinc wicks. My customers have suggested to me that I try all soy wax. It is so confusing. All of my candle suppliers are in Texas. I was going to order soy from someone in TN 2 days ago, but they never called me back. Do you like the palm?
  13. Thanks, Grama, What part of Georgia are you in? Do you know of any good craft shows for the holidays? I stocked up on my glass containers months ago. I probably have over 500 jars. I make the candle shades and found they were hard to sell without the jar. What kind of wax do you use?
  14. Thanks, Jennifer, for the info. I will check them out now. Thanks again.
  15. Luci.....thanks so much. I will try those places. I appreciate your reply.
  16. Hello, everyone, I just found this website a few days ago and love it. I moved from Texas to Georgia almost 2 years ago. I am wanting to try soy wax and not sure which one to start with. I also have not been able to find a place in Georgia to buy. The freight is eating me up from Texas to Georgia. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
