  1. Hello. I am fairly new to this board but not new to candle making. I have been buying from Gelluminations for about 3 years or so and I have never had a problem with them. Infact, 2 years ago just before Christmas time I submitted an order to them specifically for a customer who wanted to buy some supplies for last minute Christmas Candle making. Now we all know how busy this season is for us candle makers and everyone trying to get what they need to make their candles for customers. Well, I submitted the order online and paid, and was given a tracking number for FedEx. Needless to say I wasn't home when FedEx tried to deliver the packages so they left a tag on my door. Ok...I thought I will call them like the card said to have them redeliver. They said it would be to me the next day. 2 days later still NOOOOOO supplies. So I called them and they said it went back to the supplier----who was Gelluminations. I was FURIOUS!!!! I called FedEx to find out what the heck was going on and they said "There was a break down in communication and my packages were sent back to the supplier." I said to them, "Break down in communication???? There's about to be a breakdown in your company!!!! I immediately called Gellunimations and told them the story and they immediately resent my products to me next day UPS without even receiving the product back that they origionally sent to me. I even asked them not to ever send anything to me FedEx and they don't anymore...just UPS. I'm sure Gelluminations will do what they can to resolve it.
  2. OMG....I'm sooo sorry this happened to you. As far as the freebies...I never just give out freebies to anyone who is not a customer. The way I do it is I send 2 or 3 tarts of various scents with a paid order. When I finish my new web site I will have a promo which includes a free 5 oz. candle (scent of choice) for orders over $20.00 (limit 1 per paid order). As far as the website goes, I would be totally ticked off. If I pay for something like hosting, have a problem, and I can't get ahold of you right away you can believe I will be taking my business elsewhere no other questions asked! It has been estimated for every 5 minutes your site is down or something is wrong with it, it could cost you a sale...Not Cool! I really hope you get all this figured out. I would be crazy!
  3. I have a link for you. Email me at customerservice@glimerz.com.
  4. I'm with everyone else. The scents we have and use seem to last forever and don't appear to break down---provided they are kept in a cool dark place--and that's how I store mine. I do know a few companies out there who retail candle/b&b scents and they use a cutter solvent (DPG) to save themselves money. The scents that are "cut" with this do tend to break down faster than ones that aren't "cut". We used to "cut" ours for retail but we don't anymore. They strength we make them are the ones we retail. We only "cut" ours for our own candle making. Just a thought.
  5. Just looking at your post reminded me of something I did one Valentine's Day many many moons ago. I found a place who sold the little chocolate candies papers, the boxes chocolates come in, and little chocolate molds and I made a box of wax chocolates, labeled them and sold them with a little tart burner. They were such a big hit I have done that every year since then. Gl and let me know if you need any help. I can find my notes on them for you! I can't give out exacts but I may be of some help!
  6. Those look awesome. I have been wanting to try the layered look for some of my scents like Peppermint. Was it hard to not mix the colors?
  7. Hey if you find them let me know. If they are made of glass I think they would be neat to make stackable candles in. ;0),
  8. Years ago when I first started I thought I would save money by using food dyes....I could never have been so wrong! What a disaster! I not only wasted my time but my candle materials also. So, to make a long story short,,,,,I only use the proper candle dyes.
