  1. In Florida there is already strict regulations. We are not allowed to make b&b products for sell out of our homes. We need to rent a seperate facility with stainless steel counters. There is also a $150 inspection fee, and an $800 fee every 2 years to the state. There is also a $20 fee per product, and the labels have to be sent to the state for inspection and approval. Needless to say I only make soap at the moment. When I lived in Seattle I made many other B&B items. From what I understand, most people who make and sell B&B in Florida either think for some reason they are exempt from the law, or don't think they will ever get caught.
  2. Congrats on making your first few batches of cp soap. I am about an hour north of you.
  3. Beautiful! I can't wait until I get to start redecorating my house. I am so going to buy some candles. lol
  4. When choosing a scent, for me, first I do what I like, then what I think my targeted customers would like. I also start with a small batch of 12 bars and see how they sell. If they do well, then I make bigger batches. If they are slow I wait until they are half gone and make another small batch, or cull the fragrance.
  5. I also belong to another forum and many people had ordered from Snowdrift Farms and had not received either the order or a refund. Most all of them have started credit card and Paypal disputes. Good luck!
  6. I had an EZ UP tent that I bought about 6 years ago on Ebay. It was great! You will also need weights. My Ex made me some out of 3" PVC pipe filled with cement, and I attached them to the legs. That tent was not going anywhere! lol
  7. Hi Tracey, I see that you were going to move to St Pete in December. How did your move go? I am an hour North of you. Maybe sometime we can get together for lunch. I make soap and soy wax melts. Hope your not too cold with our record cold spell.

  10. I have the Lil' Shaver also. I stopped using it as it scratches the heck out of my bars. Shannon
  11. Not realizing how lightweight it is, I ordered a lb of it. Needless to say, I will have it a very long time. Shannon
  12. I don't make candles yet, but today I went into a gift store and they had 4 oz tins for $11.99 and someone was buying one while I was in there. Shannon
  13. I have used all but the grapeseed, and I have been happy with them. As for shipping, I thought that it was a good price. I order all of my oils from them except Olive, Palm, and Coconut, because I can get them locally and the prices are just about the same. Shannon
  14. While I have not ordered for Howard yet, he is on a couple of my Yahoo groups. Many people have ordered from him and he is highly praised. The only reason I have not ordered from him yet is because I have been so busy I have little time for soaping, so I just pick up a few bottles at time from Lowes. Shannon
  15. Sorry Sarah, I can't tell you why. I just checked mine, and they work just fine. I was going to suggest that maybe you used too much beeswax, but since you used a base that my not be the case. Maybe try calling the company you bought the base and lip tubes from. They may have some anwers for you. Good Luck. Shannon Sleeping Waters
  16. Wow, Looks great! I am in the same swap as you are, and I am also making body frosting. I think that mine will be made with Cranberry Stronger FO. Shannon
  17. I have the bayousome.com seals and they are great! Very professional. I use them in all of my packaging even the ones I am not shipping. I think that it is a safety issue. I worry about product tampering, and a lot of my clients remark about the seal and really like it. I know that I try not to buy anything that has not been sealed. Shannon Sleeping Waters
  18. I would also leave off the website. My daughter has a spa, and her prices are higher then mine. She tells me that people do expect to pay a lot in a spa, and if the prices were too low, then they would not think that it is quality. Shannon Sleeping Waters
  19. Hi Everyone, I need to find some really great bakery scents. My daughter has a spa, and in one of her body treatments she uses my Body Frosting. What she would like is a New/Seasonal scent every month. So I can really use your help with not only the monthly scent, but also which is the best supplier for it. This month we went with a really nice lemon from Southern Soapers. Of course we plan on using some kind of Chocolate for February, but have not decided which one or from who. I also thought of somekind of Pumpkin for October. So, any ideas for next month? Any great smells come to mind when you think of August, or September? Shannon Sleeping Waters
