  1. Thank you very much for all the links! I have watched and read and now I have to make the hard decision on whether to try the CP or the HP lol! I also need to hunt down the lye as well. I do have a Lowe's store nearby, but not sure exactly what the product is that people are using. Penny
  2. Do you have it all typed out step by step? If I can't have a video, I need all the details lol!!!
  3. I watched the video tutorial that shows the step-by-step process of CP. Does anyone know of a similar video for HP? I have been looking but I am not having any luck so I was hoping someone out there in this wonderful world of soapmaking knows of one. Thanks! Penny
  4. I just bought my first wooden soap molds and picked them up in person today. I have to say, for the molds that I have seen, this person does an amazing job on his molds. If you want to check them out, you can find him on ebay. His ID is jazzyfrump. The guy's name is Jason and he is super friendly. He makes molds and cutters in all sizes and even custom if you want something in particular. I just bought 3 4-lb boxes and a cutter set and when I picked them up, just by asking, I ended up bringing home a 2-lb box as well for only $5 more. I highly recommend this guy to anyone looking for some really beautiful boxes! HTH!
  5. Jami definitely is the queen of testing lol! I am one of the ones that gets great results from multiple wicks for this wax, but I have to agree with everyone else, you need to start with reducing that FO a bit first, and then go from there. I use the 8oz smooth sided jelly jars and I have gone through hell trying to find a wick that will work. What is sad though is that I know each wick won't be the same for ever FO I try, so I am going to have to test an FO before I add it to my 'what's available' list. It is a pain, but I love my tarts! I make my tarts from the 415 and they have awesome scent throw for several days! I think I am just lucky in regards to those lol! Good Luck!!
  6. Good luck! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you! I have heard that Palm wax is a difficult wax to work with, but I am starting to get curious about it lol!
  7. With all that excitement, I sure hope it burns perfectly for you!!!!!
  8. Unfortunately I don't have much hold on this topic as I only have one type of soy wax, the GB415. I can't afford to check out any new waxes just yet. I LOVE the tarts I get out of the 415, and some candles are great for scent throw, but others are not. I am sure it is the FOs though since some just don't want to work well with Soy while others are great. All part of that friggin testing process. The only thing I can't stand is the occassional frosting I get on my candles
  9. I have been coloring my soy, and for the most part, they come out great with no problems, but I am noticing that using red coloring to any degree, tends to get BAD frosting! It is not just the tops, it is ALL OVER the sides of the candle and I think it looks awful. The only other colors I use for the most part (so far) are blue and brown/tan and they come out great! I am beginning to wonder if I should just zap the whole coloring idea or just skip the red/pink! Soy really gets me sometimes......
  10. I know this is a bit late in the game so to speak for this post, but I wanted to add my 2 cents as well. I have the base from Bittercreek as well and I really like it and my testers rave about it! Well worth the price!
  11. I just registered on Sunday, but I only did the deposit payment. I have never been to one of these types of events and I could really use a break away from my family lol! I encourage anyone who is thinking about it to sign up! It sounds like it will be a lot of fun!
