Just a dumb question, I'm sure...but doesn't double wicking mean that the candle will burn down that much quicker? I understand the need for wicking the larger candles...just a thought. Thanks!

Thanks Kelly! Maybe I'm just not trimming them closely enough...sometimes I've nipped them entirely TOO close and then can't get them to stay lit w/out surgury. :undecided I can see where not keeping them lit long enough could be a problem. Would there be other reasons why a candle would soot?

How do you get them not to "soot"? Even my Cabin Candlery candles will do that. Thanks!

Hey All, I've gotten through the exploratory phase of all this :undecided and am pretty certain I want to dive into this with both feet. I never imagined there was so much to it! I am sure I'll have a ton of questions as I go along, although from all I've been reading, many answers are right here! My question for right now, is where would I go to purchase a good Candle Kit? Any recommendations? In my searches, I've looked at one kit from Cierra Candles, but have not seen anything on this board about them... Thanks in advance for all your help!
