  1. Thanks Marcus. I did post that on this board a while back about being able to get these jars from the dollor tree and being able to pick them up with NO shipping. Now that's what I'm talking about. LOL. I'm going to try the cotton wicks I think. I've been using zinc wicks with no problems at all but if the cotton wicks burn cleaner, I would love to try them. I can't wait to see your pictures. I love to see the outcome of everyones products. So, look forward to seeing that. Thanks again for all you info. Keshia
  2. Cool beans! Thanks so much for the GREAT information. I was having a time trying to find the right wick for these jars. So, I guess I will try to double wick. Is there much difference between the zinc and these wicks? I've never tried using the cotton cored wicks. Thanks for any help. Keshia
  3. I must say, I don't think we as candlemakers are less harder on ourselves, it just come a point where you must ask yourself is there a such thing as a "perfect" candle. We all, I think strive to make the perfect candle but can we really make THE perfect candle, selling as many scents as some of us sell. :undecided I totally agree with everyone here. I too get a good long burn, good throw, nice flame and I'm satisfied with my candles mushrooms and all. I take great pride in all my candles and pour them with love........ but even my candles have mushrooms and some flickering at times depending. Like racolvin said, mushrooming is just a part of life in the scented candle world. Keshia
  4. melann- I'll keep you updated on the 60z's. Just got them in today. Keshia
  5. The testing I'm doing now are with single wicks. I'm now waiting on more wicks to come so I can try another size before I double wick. I like single wicking alot better then double wicking. So I hope these new wicks works. I've tested (44-20-18z), (51-32-18z). Both burned just ok for me with alittle hang up on the sides. Not very much but I like to get a full meltpool. Keshia
  6. I wash mine also. It's a very important part in my pouring process. It WORKS. Everyone should try it.:highfive: Keshia
  7. What wick do you use with your container? I'm using zinc in mine but the 51's are taking a longer time to burn around the entire container. The 44's are burning better for me. Keshia
  8. This weekend I'm doing alot of testing on a new jar I'm replacing with my other jars in my line. Also, I'm having a candle party on the 8th of next month, so I will be pouring as well. That should be fun. Keshia
  9. Carol M: The dollar store has really cute jars with NO SHIPPING. That's the best part for me. They hold about 10oz to 11oz depending on how much you want. I'm using 11oz with mine and still have space at the top (very little but some). They're 3" all the way around the jar. Testing burning three now and the scent throw on all are to die for. So far so good. grama:Thanks for telling me that. I'm going to look right now. I was thinking of adhesive covers so that's perfect if they have them. Keshia
  10. With the increase in pricing, how much has shipping cost went up for you? I just ordered and my cost for shipping alone was $27.30. Just curious. Keshia
  11. Yes, indeed SatinDucky! Same thing I was thinking. And no shipping at that. You can't beat it. You're welcome:highfive:
  12. I wanted to add these jars in my line. Does anyone know where I can find plastic lids to fit this jar? It's a votive holder (I have tested one already and it burns great as a regular candle in this jar) but I wanted to make ALL my candles in this jar. The jar square-cut 3" glass candleholders. Square-Cut Glass Votive Holders. Any help will be great appreciated. Smilies Keshia
  13. Yes, with that fast service it makes you want to re-order and re-order.
  14. I know some of you guys may know this but I have to say it! NG is the bomb. I ordered my wax and FO's late Sunday night and I just got a ring at the doorbell. Who was it? The UPS man bringing me my order already. I have been using NG for 2 years now but it seems like they're getting faster and faster to me. I'm so happy to get started with my order tonight because I have a Dr. office to complete a big order for. Just wanted to share that. On to pouring........
  15. Thanks bunches! Not to mention that peach look juicy. Never thought of using just "peach". I was thinking peach with something added to it. Great suggestion. Keshia
  16. A client of mine is asking for a scent with peach or pear in it. Any suggestions on something with peach and pear. Not together, but two different scents. Company? Thanks guys. Keshia
  17. I use Joy Wax for my layer container candles and they come out really nice. My customers love them. One of I bestsellers. You can take a look if you like. Good luck. http://kcscentsations.com/specialtycandles.html
  18. Okay guys, one last wax question. I think:naughty: Hahaha. What wax works wonders for you when making pillars? Now that's a mouth full. A couple of my customers are asking about these as well as votives which I've tried making already so I wanted to try my hands. Any help will help. Thanks Keshia
  19. What a GREAT idea. I've been looking all around the net for something like that for my husbands detailing buz and mine. Oh my goodness! Yours look really good. I'm happy for ya.
  20. First I would like to say it's your first candle so you will have some problems. As much as we want our first candle to come out right, it's always going to be something wrong with it. It could be how it looks, the scent throw, wetspots and/or more.:rolleyes2 But keep your head up because with time and testing, you will do great. Now, from looking at your pictures it seems like your wax was poured to cool. What wax are you using? I don't use a pyrex cup so I don't know if that has anything to do with it but I feel like if it's cold it will speed up the cooling of the wax. I like to still use my pouring pots because they stay pretty warm even off the stove and the wax can take it's time cooling down. I make sure to wash ALL my jars with hot soapy water and put my jars in the over on warm after I've had the oven on for awhile on 300. Try washing and warming your jars the next time I think this will really help you out. Also make sure your candle thermometer is right. You want to make sure you're getting a accurate reading. I hope my post don't sound too crazy. lol THT Keshia
