  1. - i always re-use GLASS containers with no problems - i tried yaley container wax and keep getting molting probably to much scent, not to happy with it, also i really didn't like the burning aspect. - i really liked the parrafin wax slabs yaley has but i don't think its for containers but add petro to it and i still use it as gift candles. Also throw some crisco in it they say it throws the sent better and it doesn't seem to deter the burning properties. i do use a large wick.
  2. Thank You for the info I guess i try multi medium wicks spaced seperately it's for the misses and offcourse she wants it red for valentine day I guess i am getting off cheap even though we are going to lancaster for a long weekend thanks again
  3. I want to use a big Pickel Jar (2/3 gallon size) with 'fh 50/50' wax. I have and only have "62-52-18" wick plus a little small, medium, and large wicks that i bought at acmore. Can i wrap two 62 together to get a nice melting pool. ps the jar is 5 1/2 inches wide and i use the 62 for 4 inch jar and i like the way it works thank you
  4. hello my piece of advise is remember the people here do this for a living or make money with it yes there are very helpful "which i thank them all for" with alot of experience but for me candles are a hobby and as long as i don't get the tunnel effect "which i had in my first candle" i don't care about a mushroom effect on top of the wick. I think it reflects heat down to the wax which makes the wax pool perfect and lets off more scent anyway. PS i still wouldn't change anything here thanks
  5. i read somewhere that this person does his own additive and blends just to maintain a consistency with his wax might be a good idea if you are going to start over again
  6. See other thread concerning "ikea moulds"
  7. thanks for all the info now i know what to do with my left over wax
  8. i read the amount of lead used is small and it was blown out of proportion but use your own judgement i wouldn't use them
  9. I already read this and found that by adding equal amounts of paraffin and vegtable oil like crisco would make a good single pour for contains. This is what i want to do. wish me luck that i don't blow up
