  1. Thanks for the information. I don't get mad when people try to save me money. That is top priority around here. The Clear Crystal did not work and the 2/0 BL Sq was a disaster. I have just tried RRD 37 & 47 with no additive and they are both burning great. Now I know that I don't have to purchase anymore wax! I have been working on this project for over 4 months. If it was not for a church wanting these candles in special colors they can not find in a store, I would have given up a long time ago. I do appreciate all the advise given here because I am new to this. I have searched the archives for ideas. Thanks to the posts in the archives, I found a way to level my soy pillar candles in only 20 to 30 seconds.
  2. Where can I purchase this wax and additive? How much Vybar do you use and what size wick for a 10 1/2 taper? Thank you.
  3. I made a 2x3 pillar using EcoSoya PB and raw wick #2/0 BL SQ. It burned down in only 2 hours. The only thing left is a part of the side. What did I do wrong? I worked so hard to get it level and now it is gone already.
  4. You are right about the flame being high. I will start over with the 6/0 and the 12 in the 4414 to see how that goes. Your are all being very helpful and I appreciate your advise.
  5. I bought Candle Wic's 4144 but that was before I started asking questions here. I did purchase a sample of 2/0 square braid, it did well in the original wax, the flame was high but it did not start to drip until it was about 4" tall. Since I already have the 4144, does anyone know how it will do with the 2/0 square braid? If anyone wants some paraffin for containers, I have 100 lbs that I bought from an indiviual, I will give a good deal on it. I did not realize it was for containers until about 3 weeks later when I started asking questions here. I have no need for it. :embarasse
  6. Does anyone add Clear Crystal to the melted wax before pouring or dip their tapers in Clear Crystal to stop the dripping?
  7. Thanks to all. I will try a 2/0 and start over. What type of wax do you use, Chris?
  8. Hello again. I need some help making dripless tapers. I bought some Clear Crystals and that slowed the dripping down but it is still there. I am using a 5/0 square braid now, I tried 6/0 square, 12 and 15 flat braid with CW137 paraffin. I am at the end of the wick holding on for dear life!!!!!!! :undecided Anyone have any suggestions? Elaine
  9. I was afraid that was going to be the response. I did spray the heck out of the mold but I guess sitting there so long didn't help any. I guess I will have a new fragrance, I had made a layered pillar. Oh well, it may smell really good. Thanks.
  10. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I poured 474 in a votive, 2x3, and a 3x5 pillar mold. Due to emergency, all candles stayed in the molds for 3 days. I can not get any of them out. I tried to place them in the refrigerator for 25 minutes and still did not come out. I pulled the wick out of one of them pulling so hard. I finally melted that one to get it out. Any suggestions? I sure could use some. Thanks
  11. I have found a website to help with candle problems, check out: www.makesscentscandles.com/trouble.html Hope this helps.
  12. First of all, what type of wax did you use?
  13. According to different forums I have visited, food coloring can not be used. It is water based and will not mix with wax. You can use Crayola Crayons, there are a lot of colors and it is the almost the same as color chips.
  14. Thanks for all the help. I have just spent the last hour doing research on the taper candles and the standard taper mold is hard to find. I am on the way to your recommended site.
  15. I just purchased that mold from candlewic. I wonder if anyone else has purchased the 12" church mold. I am having an awful time getting the wick inserted. Any ideas? I did spray it with release spray, I hope I haven't damaged it after spending so much on it. Thanks for the help.
