    I have one from sears and I use it for everything, I work on diesel motors and it is great for finding which injector is not firing, thermostat is working and what temp, so I put it to use with my candles and found out my candy thermometer can be off as much as 15 degrees depending on the amount of wax I have in the pot. I melt 1 pound to 4 pounds so thermometer may not get a good reading, so I started to use the infared ther., works great. Paul

    Try a cotton core wick C-65 from Peaks and see if that helps, Keep the wick trimmed close and out of drafts. Alan recommended cotton core when I started, and it seems to work well, no left over burned wick etc. Sometimes I may have a little wax left on the sides but mt testers are very happy with Peaks products. Also Alan has always been very helpful if you can not find a good answer here. I use 4630,apothacary jars(like yours), cotton core wicks. Paul

    The list I would like to convert came from Peak Candle, They just do not have the wick other than in tabbed form and I like their wick,(cotton Cored),I just am not familiar enough with all the other types to compare them to the other vendors C.C. wicks THKS Paul

    Since you are comparing wicks, may I, Peaks caries cotton core that measured like the following ex. C-40 C-50 C-55 C-60 and on to the largest wick. I ask them yesterday for a length longer than then standard tabbed wicks , which they did not carry. They suggested other vendors , no one seems to recognize the catolog method of their cotton cores so does anyone know how this would transferr to the 32-28- type numbers or some one that carries cotton core wicks with this type numbering system.     I have been using peaks 4630 until they switched to their new wax. I have had very good results, but with their new performance container blend it seems that the fragrance throw is just a bit weaker., 1 oz. p.p, Has anyone had to increase the fo ratio are do you think I just have candle nose. I am not switching to another supplier , their products work so well I just need to adjust, I think.Any comments Thanks REDDOG

    That Makes my candles pretty cause mine are only half that smoky. Paul

    With a new forum and site does this mean we have to test all of our candles again and do we get the pleasure of spending our life savings on starting over with new FO, wicks and waxes. Wouldn't that be fun. Just like a kid in a candy store. I know it was hard work for someone but it sure looks nice. Paul
