  1. Water Bottles, What a great idea!!! Thank you sooo much for sharing, I will have to try that!
  2. The only 16oz shakers I've ever seen are spice type shakers http://www.freundcontainer.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_4137B11_A_cn_E_315
  3. This may seem like a really really stupid question but I am curious to know if you can use any fragrance with Incense/DGP. I know there are some fragrances that specify Candle use only - is this due to the heat causing the fragrance to change scents? I've been testing everything and it seems the thicker the fragrance the smokier the cone.
  4. I am so glad I found this message!! I logged in to ask the same question!! My son and I have been working on incense cones all summer long (Bought all materials from SOS), we were using 1:1 ratio's and just didnt seem work either we noticed they were not burning properly. We also tried more fragrance but that only caused the cones to smoke even more. I am going to try 2:1 ration (DGP/Fragrance) Does anyone else have any suggestions??
  5. I am a HUGE FO HOE - It's gotten so bad that I have doubles and triples of the same fragrance :embarasse . I am curious to see how all of you keep track of your fragrances. Do you have a DATABASE of some sort?? Do you organize by type, company.
  6. Daystar has a new FO called Sugar water and it should wonderful, but......its soooo expensive even for a 2 oz sample. I am wondering if anyone has a review? Thanks
  7. V. Secret has a new scent that I LOVE, I've been trying to find a duplicate or something close: Here is how they list the description of their Tahitian Vanilla Flower Fragrance type: fruity floral Top notes: sweet orange, pitahaya fruit Middle notes: Tahitian vanilla flower, tuberose Low notes: black coconut, santal, tonka bean Thanks
  8. Brooke, thank you so much for this link - its great!
  9. There is nothing wrong with mixing your own fragrances there are lots of suppliers who do it and do it well. But when I call a supplier I expect them to know what hint scents are in their mixture. I was very dissapointed to find out "Bitch" was sweet and fruity - that really could mean anything.
  10. I placed my first order with Royal Aromatics a little over two weeks ago, I thought the shipping time was a bit long but it was well worth it. I ordered 13 and was happy with all but 2. They also allow 8 free 1 oz samples with your order. Here is what I ordered: Marshmallow - Yummy, smells just like a real fluffy marshmallow. I usually buy this from AWE but I like this one better. Apple Martini - This isnt too sweet - a tart green apple with a hint of something else maybe banana, this is one of my fav's. Midori Sour: Not what I was expecting, I thought this would be more melon but it was sweet cantalop with a slight flower background. This is a very nice fragrance. Lavendar, Ylang & Patchouli: This smells absolutly amazing - Very clean yet girlie Blueberry Pancakes and Syrup: OMG, this scent is to die for, it smells just like the real thing. This was the best of the bunch Coconut Vanilla: Another favorit! this smells really nice and will make a great addition for summer scents Lavendar & Pineappe - This is heavy on the pineapple and light on the lavendar, Very light - this almost smells like pinapple bubblegum to me. Coconut, mango Vanilla: This is FOR SURE a FAV of mine - Pure bliss when I took the first sniff! I will order this one again. Strawberry & Coco butter: smells like strawberries dipped in butter, not to sure about this one yet - I will have to test this out. Mango Sugar Mint - this is a good one, different yet sweet with a mint twist. This would make a good soap scent. Not sure about these ones but they're good Apricot Freesia: I usually order this one from JS, so I was expecting more apricot - this is heavy on the Freesia. It smells nice but very purfumy Not a fan of the following: French Vanilla Type: this smelt nothing like french vanilla but more of a grape vanilla (wonder if it had a wrong lable?) Cabernet Wine: Not at all what I was expecting, smelt like grape leaves and not sweet cabernet like I was expecting. This one was a little dissapointing SAMPLES: Spa Couture: this is a clean, spa type scent would be great in candles. Hints of citrus and greens . Cinnabon cinnamon Rolls: WOW, this smells just like walking through the mall and smelling the sweet smell of pure evilness - I LOVED THIS SCENT!!!! Dusty Mexican Morning: this smells just like the description, The sensual smell of chocolate blended with spicy chile and hot cinnamon- YUM I will order a larger bottle of this - but this is more of a winter scent. Cosmopolitan: this by far smells better than any cosmo I have purchased. This will replace the ones I have been ordering. This is sweet and smells just like a cosmo. Peanut Butter and Jelly: This smells just like it sounds - with grape jelly. Spicy Mesquite Chili: Very interesting scent. It starts off sweet but ends as pure mesquite - this would make a great winter fragrance, I will place this on my re-order list. Strawberry Milkshake: this smelt good you can smell the malt like scent. I liked it but I would stick to regular strawberry. Coke and Whisky: Wow, this really surprised me - it smells just like a real drink but I just dont think this would be a good seller for me. I think its unique and i liked it but I just cant imagine anyone would prefer this as a candle or body product. I will definetly order from them again. When I typically order large amounts of fragrance from one company I am always more dissapointed than not. I was happy to find that I liked most of the oils
  11. I just called this company because I was actually excited that there might be a new fragrance company out there - to much dissapointment the woman who picked up was NO HELP! She said she carries too many fragrances and isnt able to write an exact description of each scent she carries. I asked her to describe the fragrance "Bitch" its description on the site states "Strong Fruity Berry" but when I asked what types of fruit she had no idea. She just said "sweet fruit". I then asked if the fragrances she sells were duplicates or popular fragrances with the names changed and she stated that she and her partner mix all of their fragrances by hand - funny that she mixed them but had no idea what was in them.
  12. Out of all of these i've only tried Pink Champagne and its sweet & Yummy! LOVE IT!! Needed lots of fragrance in soy but scent was great in Bath products
  13. I have been soaping and candle making for 3 years. I have a full time day job (to help support my soaping and Candle making Habit) but am starting to get sooo busy with orders. Just wondering how many of you decided to do this full time and when did you decide to take the leap from your "Normal Day time Job" to full time soaping? I am so scared to leave the security of a steady paycheck - Just wondering how the rest of you feel or felt?
  14. I actually should have searched the topic before I posted my question! Sounds like most people are against these types and candles and after reading the historic posts.... I get it! Seems to be a liability waiting to happen, kinda like to woman who sued mcdonalds because the coffee was too hot.....can you imagine what a lawsuit could bring to a small Candle company - Not worth it!
  15. These are wonderful! What a great idea to spray the finished lables - they look so good!
  16. Does anyone know if there is a company that sells pre-made massage oil candle wax- an unscented melt & pour type?
  17. Wix End has a great marshmallow not cake or frosting scented but a perfect fresh from the bag ooey gooey marshmallow
  18. Hello Ladies, I think I screwed up, I am a newbie to soy wax and I think I've added too much fragrance - i didnt realize how much more FO soy takes in comparison to other waxes. I kept adding more and more because it didnt smell stroing enough and now the wax is drying with a coating on the top. Did I add too much FO - How do you know if you've added too much fragrance to Soy Wax will it dry funny??
  19. I love Just Scent - I am a huge fan of the cocktail fragrance line! Most of her products do well in soy wax and all of my bath & Body products too. Her Fragrance descriptions are right on! This is one of my favorite fragrance stores! Appletini - YUMMYYYY one of my fovorites!
  20. I just placed my order - I am so excited to test this one out in everything!!! The order should be here by the end of the week, Yahoo
  21. I love using peppermint/Spearmint oils in my soaps but.........as a protection to any soaper using peppermint, spearmint or ginger oils in their soap - you may just want to add a little warning to each label as these oils are not recommended for people with extremely sensitive skin. I also add warning labels on all of my salt scrubs; I suggest they apply the salt scrub before shaving. Ouch.....salt on a razor cut is not good - especially in certain areas.
  22. Me and my soap and candle waxes have been kicked out of the home kitchen. My husband hated the smell, drips and my clutter - so he cleared out a spare room and build a workshop - Went as far as draping the floor with plastic floor covers, metal shelves along all walls, one area set with Microwave & a hot plate - Not having a sink is a pain because I have to run back and fourth to the bathroom to wash everything out. The hotplate works great for me - I dont use the pankcake griddle but an actual electric hot plate similar to an electric stove top - I bought it at walmart.
  23. Wondering if there is anyone who could share a recipe for body masque. I am thinking about using a milk bath powder recipe w/Clay powder and mixing in a scoopful of yougurt or milk or water right before use - Then painting the mix onto the body - Anyone have thoughts on that??
  24. I purchased a gallon of this from Catalina - I believe JS does purchase from Catalina. Its similar to the St.Ives Apricot scrub, same color, thinner consistancy. Its almost like their basic body lotion with the almonds addded. There is no foaming like a soap but more cream. Its easy to scent but wasnt a big seller for me. I on the other hand was happy with it.
