  1. I do not have a link, but I will tell you what my husband suggested and it worked. We took our left over fire cracker punks, soaked them in FO, let them dry and then (for experimental and safety reasons), we took them outside, stuck them in the ground and lit them. It worked. We made Apple Jack and Peel as well as some kind of Fruit. The fragrance covered our yard. It was a nice addition to our out door living space.
  2. Yes, for liquid soap to use in a foaming bottle.
  3. Do any of you use a modifier in your foaming soap? Oil and water have never mixed for me and I am concerned that the FO will float to the top of the foamer. Thanks in advance.
  4. I added the scent to the names. I am strongly thinking of splitting out two Companies with a link to each other. Thank you to those who have been constructive and not destructive.
  5. Thanks for all of your ideas and inputs. There are 2 different Candle Companies. The parent company, Tattered silk and the sister company, Trayler Trash Kandels. With the reaction of the last few posts, it appears it may be best to split the company and have different sites and link to each other. Each of my candle lines sell to all different "types" of people. The Trayler Trash does well with the "uppity" type, and Tattered Silk sells well to those with "images" that are less than desirable (both are selling to oppsite of what one may think). So that should tell me that I need to create a site for each type and not to piggy back them. I will put on the first post "WARNING" may offend some.
  6. http://www.tatteredsilk.com Hey thanks! I am not sure of the error situation. I will need to check into that. I will also work on the text and or the background color. The "ounses" is intentionally mis-spelled since it is on that page. I thought of putting some kind of a "spelling note" stating that the words were intentionally mis-spelled, but then I thought a bit about it and thought, naw, that is the whole idea. Thanks so much for your input!
  7. I am currently working on my web site and needed a break. Gosh, there is so much more to it than I thought. I have not put my pay pal on it yet or posted any photos at this time, but if you would, please look it over and give me some constructive suggestions to make it better. http://www.tatteredsilk.com Thank you in advance. PS. I am fully aware of the mis-spelled words on the one page, you will see what I am talking about when you read it
  8. I bought 2 sizes of them. My DH was the one to end up making them. They came out really good. However, the larger one took a lot of wax. I thought they were a little big and did not like them, so I put them in my booth at an antique store to sell. If you are interested, I will pick them up and take photos for you and sell them to you.
  9. Toilet paper and tampons. What next. There is a post on here where a lady used tampons for fire starters. Anything is possible. :undecided
  10. I too am not anyway connected with DP wax, except to buy my wax from them. I just spoke to DP wax and they are having a wax sale. Right now, the sale price on the Advanced CB is $50.50 with the price going to $64.00 after the sale and the sale price for the PB is $60.50 with the price going to $68.50 after the sale and probably going up even more after that. This is only good until March 27th. They are in Missouri. If you want more info, email me and I will give you their contact info.
  11. I have ordered from DP/Morris Wax. They are super people, very friendly and so helpful. I pick mine up from both stores in Missouri. I just emailed them about their current price of their Ecosoy Advanced CB and PB 50# boxes. If the price has gone up to 101.50 (like the other topic on this board said) I will be shutting down my operation. That would be a shame! Tattered Silk

  13. I bought a 50# box of CB Advanced container wax in August for $54.00. I bought another 50# box this week and the price was $69.00. Wow!
  14. Hi, Here is a link to the Graphic Artist that designed 2 of my logos. http://www.signmaker.bigstep.com/listofservices.html
  15. Would someone be so kind to tell me how to use the tabs. I have a lot of surplus "un" tabbed wicks. I have cut the wicks off from containers that I poured and they are long enough to use them in other containers. I would like to use them verses throwing them away. I tried a drop of hot glue in the center and then placed the wick down inside of it. It just seems to be such a hassle. Also, after they dry, I can not get them to suck up to the magnet holder. I even tried to squeeze the tips with pliers and that did not do very well. I hope that you don't think I am dumb for asking I just want to be as thrifty as possible and use up what I can. Thank you in advance for your suggestion! Tattered Silk
  16. I am new to making candles since 11/06. I use ecosoy 100% CB. I just purchased ecosoy PB. I have NOT had any complaints only compliments! I use 1.5 oz of FO to 2 1/4 cups of melted wax. My husband and I do this together as a hobby. The first month (only month this has happened) we sold 300.00 (just sales) on melties/tarts and containers under 6 oz. I am sure this was due to Christmas, but it was a nice start for us. Pure soy is so pretty with the pastel colors. I wondered about using another wax, but then why, when I have happy customers! It is a matter of opinion.
  17. I prefer the electric one's. Thank you!
  18. !!!!(sorry about the California spelling in my header)!!!! Would any of you be interested in doing something like this? See the link below it is under the business side of things: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?p=382041#post382041
  19. I wonder if there is a Chandler in El Monte, California that would be willing to take on a co-op? That is were this company is located.
  20. I clicked on the links and now the pictures are not showing. If you can get on the site, go to the search button and put in any of these numbers 65003 through 65020. The prices are from 7.50 to 11.00.

  22. I just started selling my ecosoy advanced products in the middle of November. I shrink wrap them with regular food plastic wrap with a shot of heat from my heat gun and they look and smell great. The tiny muffin tarts are "flying" out the door at $1.25 each. I do have buy 13 or more for $1.00 each. I also sell the clam shells which holds 8 squares. 3 squares are the same weight as 1 tart. I have the clam shells marked for $2.50 each. I have not sold any in the shells yet.
  23. I am new to this but this is what I found out. The first few container candles I made had the swirls in the entire jar.(Ecosoy Advanced) I was very concerned until a friend of mine was looking over my inventory before I put it out for sale. I did not say anything about the swirl jar she had in her hand. She spoke up and said that she "loved the look of it and would buy it just for the appearance", she was not crazy about the FO. It was "leather". I told her that the swirl was not intentional. Guess what, that jar sold immediately once I got my display set up. I am not sure if she came back and bought it or if someone else did. I am finding out that what I thought would NOT sell, did sell. I recently took an un-official poll on what true candle lover's want. Here are the results: 1. scent 2. scent 3. scent 4. appearance 5. price I tend to agree with my poll. Prior to me making my own candles/tarts/containers, the scent was all I was concerned about. I was and still am not a pillar person purchaser. If I were to be a pillar person, then maybe, the appearance would be a #3 for me, leaving scent 1 & 2.
  24. Last night I opened the back door to let the cat in and there was a box. I was wondering who would be sending me this package. Well, I forgot, I placed a FO order around 1:30 am several nights ago and there they were. Dang! Already loosing track! When my hubby got home he saw them on the table and said "more?" I told him that I forgot I ordered them but they were for making those candles that were "TYPE" fragrances. Never another word from him after that. Whew, I have got to STOP this madness.
