  1. I use 60% 415 soy and 40% J223. I have used this blend since I started making candles. It has a great hot and cold throw. I mainly use LX wicks. I get most of my supplies from Alabaster Candle Supply since I can drive there.
  2. Thanks for the info. I have been having a problem with cracks in candles using the J223 and Soy. I have adjusted temperatures but it hasn't helped. It looks like air bubble cracks. I still think it is the temperature but can't figure out if it is the pouring temp or room temp. My daughter-in-law is enjoying getting all the candles with cracks. She says they burn great which is another puzzle to me. I am going to order a sample of 4630 tomorrow then back to the testing. What type of wicks have worked best. I mostly use LX wicks.
  3. At present, I mix J223 and 415 soy for my candles. I have been looking at buying 4630 wax. Does anyone use this wax and can give me some advice on advantages and disadvantages. I am looking for a wax that will be cheaper than what I am using. Thanks for any information.
  4. I was talking on the telephone and making candles and made a big mistake. After the candles cooled, I smelled one and it didn't have any smell. Took me awhile to figure out I had not put the FO in the wax. Is there an easy way to melt the wax so I can correct the mistake. With the price of wax I will be very upset if I lose all this wax. I thought about putting the jars in the oven on a low temp -- is this the best way? Thanks for any help. Bet I watch what I am doing next time. Linda
  5. Peak's Rose. I agree it is very strong. I made candles with the usual percent of FO and you could smell them buring next door.
  6. I get most of my scents from Alabaster since I am within driving distance. Some of my best sellers are Kudzu, Love Spell, Pomergranate, Peach, Magnolia, Blueberry Muffin. I also have been pleased with their customer service. Mike has always been a big help and takes the time to answer my questions no matter how "dumb".
  7. Alabaster Candle Supply has a great Kudzu FO. It is one my sellers.
  8. I purchased the clamshells at least a year ago and have finally decided to pour them. Several questions -- Can I use 6228 for these. Also is there a standard warning label that I can use. Thanks for any help. My senior moments are getting more frequent. BTW I did a search and didn't have find the answers I needed. Linda
  9. Yes, that is the chart I have been searching for. Thanks so much. I am going to make sure I keep a record of where it is located. Thanks again! I am still trying to figure out what wick to use with this case of J300 I found in my work shop. Since the wax has been discontiued there is not much info on it. Don 't even remember when I bought the wax. Have a wonderful evening. Linda
  10. The chart I have been looking for list different wax and contaiiners and different wicks for each. I have begun to think I dreamed this. I was sure I had made an index card on the site but gues s my little visiting ghost hid it. Thanks for everyone's help.
  11. Caribbean Fruit has been a very good seller for me. I use a soy/parafin blend and get a very good hot and cold throw.
  12. I have been searching for a site that listed different waxes, with all sizes of containers and a list of wicks to test. I am definitely having senior moments. I checked candle cauldron and one-stop candle sites but was not what I was looking for. Does anyone have an idea of what the name of the site is? Hope I am making sense with this post.:rolleyes2
  13. I have run out of my regular container wax and cannot get to the supplier until next week. I have a case of J300 I bought quite a while back. Does anyone use this was and if so what is a good starting point for a wick in a 8 oz jelly jar. I use LX wicks. I usually use a soy/parafin blend and in most scents use a LX 18 or a LX 20 in heavy scents. Also what is anyone opinion about the hot throw with this wax. I usually test, test, but since I am in such a crunch I thought someone might give me a starting point. What a mess to be in at this time of year. Thanks for any help. Have a blessed day! Linda:sad2:
  14. I get my warning labels from Peaks. Great customer service.
  15. Thanks again Vicky. I am using a small race car model with white gravel in the bottom. Hopefully I will find a tealight cup at Wal-mart. I bought several small glass containers at the Dollor Tree but they were high. Here I go again.
  16. Another question. How do you determine what size container to put on the inside. My container is the ivy bowl. Would I try to find a glass tealight holder. Sorry I am so dense.
  17. Thanks, I haven't poured gel in a long time but have some race cars I wanted to put in gel for Christmas gifts. Linda
  18. I have been looking for instructions on how to make an eternity candle. I am making a gel candle in a fish bowl with an embed. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I can use as an insert. TIA for any help. Linda
  19. Beautiful candle. A wonderful remembrance of a happy occasion.
  20. I have ordered wax, fos from Greenleaf and have been very pleased. Their customer service is excellent.
  21. Not sure if I am on the right board for this question. I need a different name for Black Canyon. Customers wouldn't even open to smell and then I burn one in shop and everyone who comes in loves the scent. Thought if I changed the name it might sell when not burning. What about "Blue Moon"? TIA
  22. I have a request for a candle made with the Chai Tea Fragrance. I did a search and came up with Natures Garden Candle Supply carries this fragrance. Has anyone order from this company? If so, how would rate the quality of their oils and customer service? TIA Linda
