  1. I have spent some time doing my research and there is no design patent on that type of candle. They do hold design patents but they are not for gel with a paraffin overpour they are for a particular candle that is not even being made today. I am sure if they were able to obtain the design patent on look of the candle being made today they would have. The design patent may have been denied (not all patents get approved). I just love this one that is posted on the net from candlewic talking about when gel meets paraffin: http://www.howtomakegelcandles.com/gel_candle_tips/gel_paraffin_candles.htm (One of the newer techniques is a chunk candle with the chunks made from gel. The gel chunks are then placed in a container and paraffin wax is poured over the gel chunks. Designs for this application are endless. As the gel candle market continues to expand the applications between gel and paraffin will continue to grow. Candlewic can provide assistance with any application you may choose). I would bet more than likely if someone were to make this type of candle that the material compositions are not the exact same as the materials used by them. The candles made by them all use a core/votive that is (part) of the process claimed in the patents. I could probably go on and on but I won't so best of luck in your research. My advice, seek legal!!
  2. The wax your talking about is very similar to 1343 but 1343 is the votive and pillar version, I am not sure what the container version is but I hope this help you.
  3. Oh no! Don't get me wrong it's very good after 24 hours but if you do wait 48 to 72 for testing it does get even stronger (scent throw)
  4. We love this wax it really works great for us and the scent throw is awesome. For test burning if you wait just a day the results are good but if you wait 3 or 4 days they are even better! Good luck and happy testing..
  5. Mushrooming is also a natural characteristic of some wicks (zinc) for instance. Mushrooming can be caused from heavy FO's but even though the wick mushrooms it does not necessarily mean the candle has too much FO because It is also cause from carbon build up on the wick. We use zinc wicks in our candles so it would be considered acceptable for this type of wicking.
  6. Does anyone know if anyone else sells that 2.0 oz metro they offer at the jar store but on the west coast?
  7. I would take a look at this link if I were you and get some samples. According to what iv'e read and tested paper burns the hotest but everyone's results are different and opions can differ. Depending on climate altitude and temperatures we all seems to get different results! http://secure.candlesupply.com/search_category_main.cfm?queries_index=index6&ProductCodeID=36
  8. Can we ask what wax are you using and what temperature are you pouring at?
  9. This is what I seen on BCN website: (Paper core burns the hottest and is good for waxes that require heavy duty wicking to achieve a good melt pool) We use only the "Libbey" Status jars for our product line and use zinc wicks I wish you the best of luck with your wick testing.
  10. I have to agree that picture is beautiful! Very nice job.
  11. I do need to mention one more thing. I clearly asked in my last email to you personally what your company is going to mention to people in the future if they attempt to post my company name? But it seems that you can not answer this question for me.
  12. It's okay with me what you said and yes maybe my sis did lie but that was because she made a serious mistake and did not know what to do about it. It's all said and done in my book and I actually got a hand full of customers from your site to purchase products from us. I guess when they see something that is good they go for it. There are many boards out there that do not want people to advertise as you mentioned BUT they also don't just ban the person they inform them and let it go. An option would have been you could have removed the post and sent a warning! I felt something was fishy going on from you guys so I had someone from Canada sign up and had no mention of our name and list a few companies that he liked and you removed his post for no reason. It's clearly your board and you can do what you want with it and I am glad my company is not listed on it after seeing what I seen your members saying about Salt City Candles. Salt City Candles is a very well know company with a great candle and great fragrances. There is not one person out west that does not enjoy Salt City Candles but yet a friend of mine said something negative about candle lite and the post was removed? WHY? The candles she burned had no smell and she was truthful about it!! I also know someone who posted a good post on Salt City and it was removed? WHY? I also went through many post and found many people who posted 10's over and over on certain companies and those post were left alone. Come on you did not know this was the same person or someone they had known! And those post still remain. I have received multiple orders from a few people on your board and I did ask them to kindly not mention DiamondCreek Candles name on your board in fear that they will be banned for an Innocent thing. My sis did just that!! She wanted to plug my company as any other family member would do and felt bad for what happened so she tried to list multiple times just to get the name back up on the board because we were not the original person who listed us on the board and I am sure you know this because you waste your time with all this tracking like a private investigator. If your investigations are that important you should change your software and go with a program that allows only 1 post per company per IP. To avoid banning people because you are seriously loosing by doing this. You are loosing TRAFFIC, ADVERTISERS, RANKING'S and more because I am sure I am not the only company that has been banned! I could already be on your site and you would have no idea it was me from my own PC... BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN THERE!!! You also banned my work IP (Not DiamondCreek) which has over 500 PC'S in the same building and over 3000 employees nationwide, not a good move...
  13. Nothing to do with the wax mixture but let me tell you this about candle find. My sis and I went there from two different computers in the house and signed up a company. They then accused us of using the same PC and banned us from the site!! We do have a router in the house becasue we have one PC in every room and they all share the same router becasue the router has 5 ports on it. But it was not the same PC! Besides give me a break we meant no harm....
  14. On container candles we use 6006A (zinc wicking only) and achieve great results. The hot and cold throw are great! I love this wax...
  15. Well that is a good question but no, it depends on how you wick it. Just like any other pillar if the wick is too large you will get spillage! And lots of TEST, TEST, TEST......
  16. Hi All, Just got in the new metro's from the jar store and they are GREAT!! I have to do some test burns but the quality of the glass is awesome! They are thick and heavy and nothing like they used to be. If you like the metro jar the new improved version is excellent!!! DiamondCreek Candles
  17. Art Explosion Label Factory! For all warning labels and UPC if you are registered with the Uniform Code Council.
  18. I am not sure how other people do it but what I do is this: I have a 1/2" coper pipe (small one about 8") and heat the pipe slightly then push it into the wax over the wick all the way to the bottom. Let it cool just a bit and pull the pipe out! The wax will come out of the center with the pipe. You should be able to pull out the wick with the tab with a pair of pliers. Then place your new wick center on the hole and place the pipe over the wick and push the new wick with tab into the candle. Then I re-melt the wax that came out of the pipe and re-fill the center hole...
  19. Blue Diamond, Please do not take what I said in the wrong way or out of content I was just saying that either you owned the site or someone on this board reading the post did. Yes the numbers were not working that is correct! And now today they are working that is what I meant, that's all no hard feeling...
  20. I am not sure about scented lamp oils. I will check it though!
  21. You are fairly correct about the fragrance throw. It depends on the wax though, if they use a paraffin or a 50/50 vegetable slash whatever mixture curing time for a chemical reaction to take place could be 24 to 48 hours. If their claim is (soy) typically soy should cure for 2 weeks at least for the best fragrance throw! It really just depends on the wax that is used.
  22. You know you can also make these by using an oil lamp glass insert. So you make the pillar candle (no wick) drill out he center just deep enough for a lamp oil insert and put the glass lamp oil insert in the top. Then all you have to fill is the lamp oil insert once in a while. You can see the link to the inserts here: http://www.candlesupply.com/oilcandles.html
  23. One of the greatest things that I love about message boards is the communications that can be established with these post. Yesterday the sweetcupcakecandles website was not working properly and this is why I could not see pictures or prices. The number one and so forth on the site were not linked to anything so when you placed your mouse on that particular part of the site you did not get a link. I can clearly see today that someone on this message board either owns the site or knows someone that owns the site as for the links are working today. And I have to agree they are pricey!
  24. Sorry if I am missing something but from what I see there is not candle prices nor pictures! This is just what I am seeing...
