  1. How long did you test burn? What was the fragrance? What is the diameter of the holder you tested in? A picture would help.
  2. I have a couple rose silicone molds and I made a hole in the mold and use wick pins and it works perfect, no leaks.
  3. You really make some really unique candles! In a mold shaped like that, how would you wick them for what length of burn? Like other pillars, burn to edge and each burn time would be longer?
  4. Also today I made some mottled Raspberry Cordial and Blatantly Blueberry.
  5. I was going for the Sage and Brown colors that are so popular right now. Not exactly what I was going for but I like em! I poured the second layer a little hot but I like how it blended into the first layer.
  6. They look more than just ok! I like your color choices, especially the white layer in the second picture.
  7. No I poured the candle with wick hole down. Could it be the way I turned the candle for the photo?
  8. I think you found my flaw, I get too impatient and need to let them cool like you suggested! Thank you!
  9. I agree on the mold release, and I don't chill my molds. I think I get a little anxious to unmold at times, so maybe I need to be a little more patient. Thanks for the advice, over the years you have posted many a beautiful candle!
  10. you have been busy! I especially like the brown one on the far right also. What technique did you use for that one, it is hard to see.
  11. Those are perfect! Great Job. I was getting alittle burned out but you have inspired me!
  12. http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ The above link is what I use to make my pictures smaller otherwise they would be huge, so I had the opposite problem. I wish there were some large pine cones around here, we have 3 pine trees but they have tiny little cones. I will have to check other peoples yards.
  13. You have your display very appealing, I wouldn't be able to walk by that one without checking it out.
  14. Beautiful! Do you color your cane? It looks like a light beige or Ivory.. I like that.
  15. I really like how you have your table arranged and the risers. The only suggestion I would have is unwrap some of your pillars maybe.
  16. I like your pine cones, especially the berries! Wish I had a dollar store near me:(
  17. Made some more pillars for Nov 10 craft fair Blue/White are scented Transcendence from CC Yellow/orange/red are scented Fallen Leaf from CC Thanks for looking, I like the frost effect, but a few spots stayed in the mold:sad2: , maybe I better use a little mold release?
  18. regular votives (no pkg) $1.00 chunk (no pkg) $1.50 The only price break I will give is they order 8 or more and then another price break over 100 (weddings) If I have to put them in bags and ties I add .50, you are right about there being more work in votives.
  19. Yes I scent the overpour same %. I have given out a few freebies of these and positive feedback, but people tend to get excited about anything free. :rolleyes2
  20. Red chunks - Cinnamon from Peak Green Chunks - Winter Woodlands Whisper from Candle Cocoon Yellow Chunks - Bayberry from Peak over pour was Winter Woodlands Whisper Nice combo, hopefully the customers will like them, especially those who don't put up live Christmas Trees. Last year Bayberry was very popular, each year it is different, so hard to know what people will like. Thanks for the compliments!
  21. Thanks everyone, right now this is my favorite style. Personally I have always liked the smooth creamy appearance candles, especially just white or ivory and several of them grouped together, I like how you can see the light of the flame traveling down/through the pillar. So, half creamy and half rustic or mottled is a good compromise.
  22. Thanks! Let me think how long I have been making candles.. I placed my first candle supply order in July 2000, so 7 years. I love it, especially pillars, cause sometimes you just never know what they will look like and the waiting for them to cool before you get them out of the molds seems forever but that is part of the fun and trying new techniques etc.
  23. Last year regular smooth votives didn't sell too well, so I thought I would try the chunk votives and see how it goes as well as smooth creamy votives. If I get time I will do some mottled with layers or something.
  24. The top half I used IGI 1343 with 1/2 teas vybar poured at approx 175, bottom half I used 2 Tbls Stearic poured at approx 175 also
