  1. I did this YEARS ago. If I remember correctly mineral oil was one thing and I don't remember the other item. I bought the supplies from some company in Tennessee which was later known for its less than stellar customer service. I can't think of the name, and I believe they changed names a few times since then. I'm sure someone else can think of it though. It was easy, but I couldn't move gel candles to save my life...
  2. Nuscentscandle has cantaloupe lily, which they mark as a martha stewart type. Not sure if that's what she meant, though.
  3. Are you sure you don't mean their Eggnog? I love the creme brulee, because I love the sweet scents, but didn't like their eggnog. It was very strong, and had a bit of boozy smell to it like you describe.
  4. WSP has a second e-wax that is supposed to provide the soft, powdery after feel. If you look at the ingredients list of their very popular goat milk & honey lotion, it looks like that is the emulsifier, at least one of them, used in it. I haven't tried it, but have been meaning to. Just haven't had time.
  5. Anyone who could do that, probably wouldn't have to because if they are that experienced at soap making, they probably already have plenty of good recipes.
  6. I think it smells like Raspberry & Coconut. Almost like a zinger, but without the cake part.
  7. There is Morris Wax, I believe they are in Springfield. I don't know the link off the top of my head, hopefully someone else will, if not, just do a yahoo search, I know they come up that way.
  8. Preblends won't mottle, unless that's what they are designed to do, and any straight paraffin will mottle on its own without mineral oil. Adding mineral oil actually is just more oil that is in the wax, which can not hold much oil without additives. In the past you had to use vybar, which inhibits mottle, to get the wax to hold what most consider a good amount of fragrance oil to scent the candle, but there are now additives to increase the amount of oil the wax can hold without negatively affecting the mottle of the wax.

    souffle cups?

Try instawares.com and type in portion cups in the search box. They have lots of sizes and colors. You have to buy in large quantities, but the prices are still pretty good, as you've cut out the middle man.
  10. Here's some BC scents that do well in soy: BCN Wildberry Zinger Tea Cotton Candy Vanilla Nut Bread Honey Coco Mango BCS Apple Crumb Cake Keep in mind that I'm in the process of retesting scents in soy, to add that option for those who want soy, so I'm sure there are many more. Their newer scents should work good, because they test them in soy. But that doesn't mean that their idea of "great" matches yours, so I guess you have to take it with a grain of salt.
  11. Apple Crumb Cake throws great in soy. It's more of a sweet crust smell with a hint of apple, not spicy like your hot apple pie's.
  12. Back a few years ago on the scent review, their was a very long post about their customer service issues-the jist of it was simply - BUYER BEWARE! But I personally haven't used them, perhaps they have changed. And yes, someone did accidentally call them something that rhymes with pluckers, but I think it was a Freudian slip, as I believe it was one of the people who had a bad experience with them. Wendy
  13. I've never tried it, but I've heard that BCN's Wine Cellar is a sweet Grapey-smell. This might be it, or at least close to it. Wendy
  14. The EDTA is also a food preservative, so that's an additional preservative, and one targeted for the food ingredient.
  15. No, I don't think you are. She is using false advertising to try to sell her product and run others down at the same time. People who don't make candles don't know what goes into the wax, and for all they know if she says her candles are all natural, many will believe her. It's not saying that the public is stupid, but just not educated about candle making. What you are proposing is educating them, which is in their best interest as well as your own. I think it is a great idea. And I do the same with my candles. I have a soy blend, and then a 100% soy line. Customers deserve to know the truth. If they find out that you misled them, you likely have lost them forever.
