  1. Thanks for all the replies. My husband has made me a very basic cutter for now. He also ordered me a wire cheese cutter to try out. If those both fail, I might take you up on the offer if it is still available.
  2. I used to have a metal box that worked perfectly for cutting bars of soaps. It was similar to a mitre box but closed on one end. I am trying for the life of me to remember who I bought it from, but my memory is failing me. Does anyone know who I can buy this from or something similar? TIA -Kathleen
  3. It has been awhile since I have made any soap or bath products. I think it has been about a year and a half. I have moved two times and have been lugging my stuff around. Today it stuck me. I want to make soap! I pull everything out the closet, take inventory of what I had. I have alot of stuff, but not enough it make certain things. Plenty of coconut oil, so I figured I would make some salt bars. I just need to pick up some lye and sea salt. I go the store and loe and behold, they no longer carry lye. When the did that happen? where am I to get it now? And what the heck am I going to make in the mean time? Sheesh! I am off to do some research and see what I can make with what I got. I am hoping that my little rut is over. I enjoy making soap and bath products. Katie
  4. That's good scent choice for around here Cindy. I bought some molds with a pineapple on them, but never got around to buying the FO. LOL. Someday...
  5. That is an amazing color blue. I would never want to use it
  6. I like making them. I do bubble bombs. I don't sell anything yet, but all my friends and family LOVE them as well. And for the not so perfect batches, I just crush them and bag them up as bubble bath powder.
  7. How about a shower gel too? Most of the guys that I know prefer shower gel over soap.
  8. I take a damp washcloth and just wipe the bars a few times. I think I read someone uses old nylons to polish with.
  9. Are you using canola oil in your recipe? I noticed that when I started using canola I would get a little bit of roughness on them. When you cut the bars it really isn't to bad. You might be able to polish it off, but I haven't tried that yet, since I don't mind it.
  10. I got some lip colorant from Micheals. It came with 2 colors a reddish pink and a minty green color. I have only used the red so far for my cherry lipbalm. Since I don't usually were lipstick, it is nice since it has a small tint to it. Normally I usually live it uncolored.
  11. I get most of my containers from MMS. They have good prices and shipping is reasonable.
  12. I have never used the Brambleberry base. But everyone loves the BCN one.
  13. I don't sell soap, just give it to firends and family. So they usually get it in a sandwich baggie or a poly pro bag. If I were to sell my soap, I would use the cigar band method most likely. I also like the single bar of soap with the soap deck tied together with the twine and a small hang tag. That is a cute little set.
  14. Just think how much everyone lvoes you for doing these co-ops. It will make the time fly by.
  15. Those are great Cindy. Looks like they are keeping you super busy.
