  1. Would either of these 2 ingredients cause a base to have a bad smell? Steryl Alcohol or BHT ? JS & New Directions Aromatics both carry a body butter base. The ingredients are exactly the same & listed in the same order, except for those 2 ingredients. Here is JS: Ingredients: • Purified Water • Sweet Almond Oil • Sunflower Seed Oil • Coconut Oil • Emulsifying Wax • Safflower Seed Oil • Grapeseed Oil • Beeswax • Glycerine (By Product of Soap Manufacturing) • Petrolatum • Cetyl Alcohol • Jojoba Oil • Methyl Paraben (Preservative) • Propyl Paraben (Preservative) • Cocoa Butter • Shea Butter Here is New Directions: INCI Ingredients: • Purified Water • Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil) • Helianthus Annus (Sunflower Seed Oil) • Coconut Oil • Emulsifying Wax • Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower Seed Oil) • Grapeseed Oil • Beeswax • Steryl Alcohol • Glycerine (By Product of Soap Manufacturing) • Petrolatum • Cetyl Alcohol • Jojoba Oil • Methyl Paraben (Preservative) • Propyl Paraben (Preservative) • Cocoa Butter • Shea Butter • BHT NDA has some customer reviews & they are about 95% favorable, except for one or two people who claim that the base had a base "smell" that was hard to cover up without adding alot of FO to it. Would just those 2 ingredients(Steryl Alcohol or BHT) cause that? NDA would be cheaper for me, but I don't want a hard base to cover up.
  2. Never mind, I found it by searching an old post. It's New Directions Aromatics.
  3. I've been out of the loop for quite some time now & want to get back into it again. I was looking over body butter options once again. I thought I remember that another supplier carries the same Body Butter base that Just Scent carries. I was wondering if anyone remembers who it is? Just wanted to compare prices & shipping. Thanks!
  4. WSP's Goats Milk & Honey Hand & Body Lotion is my #1 product. I don't know what I'd do if WSP ever stopped selling this stuff! I've tried a few others from other places, but people want this one.
  5. I've read that these 2 suppliers have the same or similar body butter base. I looked on the sites & the ingredients seem the same. I was thinking of trying one of them, until I read the reviews. On JS, they seem to love this stuff. On NewDirections, they love the consistency, but can't get past the "smell" of the base, even after scenting it. I currently use WSP's Body Butter base & although I love it, it too is hard to cover the smell of the base & therefore I cannot offer it in every scent. The lighter scents just don't cut it. I don't want to have the same situation with either of these 2 places. Does anyone here have any feedback on either of these 2 butters from these 2 suppliers? Thanks all:D
  6. Has anyone tried WSP's Maraschino Cherry FO? I want a new cherry. I would like it to be sweet, but not a black cherry & not bakery & not cough syrup. & was looking at this one. Thanks.
  7. Can anyone recommend a Lemon Meringue FO for bath & body? (scrubs, lotions, sprays) thanks!!!!
  8. I need help, once again, making body sprays with Cyclomethicone & FCO. I've taken a few months off from the B&B thing, for personal/family reasons. But, I'm starting again & need help, already!! I'm making one ounce sized Cyclo sprays. Same problem, as way back when: I have no problem making large sizes, but have someone who wants EIGHT one-ounce body sprays in EIGHT different scents.(& some are blends!). Since it's 8 different sprays, I'm not making a larger batch & pouring them into smaller bottles. I'm only making one ounce at a time. Can anyone help me out? How much Cyclo? How much FCO? How much FO(can be in ounces, "drops")Thank you very much!!!
  9. for premade bases, you can browse these sites & start ordering sample sizes of them & see what you like. I'm only listing ones that I know I've either tried myself, or know others who have, & are happy with. There ARE more out there that people love, but I'm thinking off the top of my head here: www.essentialwholesale.com (have alot of all natural bases) www.soapandthings.com (it's Jody's & they have many many bases that the other places have.......kind of like one-stop shopping) www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com (their Goats Milk lotion is great) www.essentialsbycatalina.com (nice body whip) www.candlesupply.com (bitter creek north) (people love their stuff) www.millcreek.com (soy)
  10. WSP's Hot Fudge Brownie in a Butter is great. the dupe of Aquolina's Chocolovers seems to be a big hit in body sprays. NaturesGarden's Chocolate Raspberry Cream Roll is great in a shower gel & hair conditioner, believe it or not! (and I like it in a lotion too)
  11. I was just checking out www.thecandlemakersstore.com & they have 2 soy based lotions.maybe compare the ingredients? but I've never ordered from them, yet.
  12. Anyone ever heard of or ordered from a company called Brighter Scents? Stumbled upon them & they have a terrific selection of FO's.
  13. Darn! I just read threads here on TCS & they all are negative. Darn, because they have so many of the bottles, containers, etc....I'm looking for, all in one place. Does ANYone like them? tcs = the candlemakers store
  14. Placing my first order with them. Any must haves? Thanks so much!
  15. Ok, I'm going to order the recommended Body Splash/room freshener base from The Candlemakers Store. Any other must haves from this place? or any products to avoid? I've never ordered from them before. Thanks so much!
  16. www.aromahaven.com Patchouli Raspberry The deep, musky resins of exotic Asian & Indian Patchouli are blended with sweet raspberries in this complex earthy concoction. Soft bottom notes of strawberry, plum, bergamot, and Vanilla round out this intoxicating scent.
  17. wow, it's the same exact base? interesting. Thanks for the info.
  18. If it's what I think you are thinking of: aromahaven. If not, woops.
  19. bump:bump: ..............anyone else use this? I'm thinking of trying it, as opposed to just ordering perfumers alcohol?
  20. I have a whole buncha questions regarding using alcohol to make a body spray. Thanks for any help! Can anyone please suggest a place to buy alcohol to make perfumes? What type would I use, that does not need a special license to sell? Do you find that using alcohol in a spray makes the scent last longer? Thanks so much for your help!
