  1. I have worked with clients who use rocket lawyer with good experiences. I am not sure about a corporation but for a non profit it was worth the extra money as there is so much involved with the state and the fed government and such. I would say checkyour state website to check the costs and then check the online services and decide if it is worth it to use them.
  2. I personally use adobe acrobat when I do catalogs. Another popular program is called InDesign also by adobe. HTH
  3. I would have told her that google is her friend. She could research herself and find some great communities like this one where she could actually learn and for "her own" process for making candles.
  4. Although I do feel bad for the woman I do not agree with the lawsuit and I am not a big business kind of person to say the least. The fact is even if the coffee was hot, if it was 105 degrees like bathwater I am positive it would have gone right back in the window. I am not saying it is not unfortunate I am just saying if she paid .49 for a cup of coffee and the jury awarded her 2.86 million (here is the important part) Which is equivalent to 2 days coffee sales, now comes the math. 2,860,000 divided by .49 = 5,836,734.69 so that is almost six million now divide that by 2 since it was 2 days sales. Now the magic numbers between 2.5 million and 3 million other people drank McDonald's coffee on that particular day without a problem. Correct me if I am wrong but this could seriously be a case of operator error. Now if you were to argue the person handing the coffee out of the window spilled the coffee on her I would agree to the lawsuit.
  5. Inventory is key to large shows. Think of it like this, what is the best "little" show that you do? You will at least do that much at a large show so it is not like you will even be out the $450.00. Big shows are great for networking, maybe wholesale clients and to get your website name out there. Put out a mailing list form.
  6. both candle makers from the middle east...that I am sure order their supplies from the us LOL
  7. I dont want to flame here but I have to chime in and say I totally disagree with soapmom. There are countless examples of how the younger generation can work and go to college. I am sure a fair chunk of this board manages to run there business as well as deal with running there households. Husbands, kids, school, diapers etc etc. and college has to be easier than kids. If I had to guess I would say adam would probably attend a college or tech school related to computers or internet. That would make it all fit right in. The fact that he seems to be so well intuned with customer support should let everyone no he has a little insight on business and I can only guess on his future. I cant endorse him because I dont use or know him but I give him props
  8. i dont use them myself but I will say I have heard nothing but good things about them here, I bet people even reply about his support being good. As far as the age thing I give it no weight at all. Younger generations start computers early so even if he is 18 he may have vast experience. lets talk about teen businesses, dell, apple, microsoft, napster, facebook and the list goes on and on. All either high school or college students or dropouts that had time for their customers. Dont let age fool you.
  9. Personally I woud never use wordpress for my ecommerce. It is a blog and not a shopping cart. I understand the importance of a blog believe me but I dont think it should be handleing the ecommerce. It should contain a catalog of products with a link to the page in your cart. The blog is used to drive people to your site and products or services but can actually link to a secure cart.
  10. there used to be more of an advantage in the early google days. Now some search engines even frown upon them.
  11. Some people or businesses buy these names in bulk in hopes to resell and make a quick buck. They will seek out businesses with a similar name thnking that you will think that the dot com is everything. If they asked a fortune they would risk a popssible lawsuit from you for cybersquatting but buy keeping it in the 500 to 1000 dollar range it would cost you more to take then to court for it so basically you will either be suckered into buying it or just pass and they will keep it for another year. If they buy in bulk they can pay as little as a few dollars a year but keep your eyes out if it doesnt move after some time eventually they let it go.
  12. This is contraversal in the hosting world. In my opinion windows server platform is no more secure than their pc platforms. They did probably hack the DIY servers but probably got in through an exploit (probably a control stack overflow) in feature cart. You may be happy with DIY so if you are and they offer hosting you could always run a different shopping cart if they allow it. IMO php is the way to go it offers everything and more as asp and is much more secure.
  13. I would get away from feature cart. Here is why, there is obviously an exploit in the code itself but if Im a customer and I go to your store and see that you were hacked I personally am not going to stand in line to give you my credit card number. Even though it may be through an outside source like PP it will still scare people. Unfortunately once the exploit is discovered the script kiddies will run wild.
  14. There is a big thing where I live this weekend. A city wide yard sale. Needless to say I am a little bummed because I could have had stuff right on one of the main roads downtown for free...but... I am just not satisfied that my products are everything they can be yet. I mean I always get compliments on them when I give them away but not yet. I guess I could have done tarts to get my name out there but theres always next time. I WILL SELL NO CANDLE BEFORE ITS TIME LMAO. Forgot to say goodluck to everyone. Guess I decided I would hijack the thread and rant instead LOL
  15. when you said you just redid your site today and I went to it and noticed you had a pagerank of 2 I just pulled up your cache and compared it. the new ste would have dropped without the keywords and title.
  16. Your going to want to put this back in the new sie so you dont lose your page rank on google: <META NAME="description" CONTENT="hand poured palm candles, and melts."> <META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="candles, palm candles, tarts, melts, mini muffin melts, candle wax, fragrance oils, scents, votives, pillar candle, pillar, gift certificates"> and your old title: <title>Tuxedo-Enterprises -- hand poured candles, and more. NEW...Bath and Body Products</title> is much better than your new one: <title> Tuxedo-Enterprises - Home</title>
  17. what exactly is the error you get? your store is turned off now in the config so I cant see te error. another thing is that you may really want to consider a different host, a 48 hour wait for a critical problem on a business website is insane.
  18. My favorite part "Do not forget to include your web page in your replying back for confirming i contact the right store." English translation "I am literally trying to scam thousands...maybe even millions of people through email, so if you could be so kind as to give me your website address it would help me tremendously in filtering through my list and only keeping the suckers on it" LMAO
  19. what exactly went wrong? I have designed for both xcart gold and pro but you would have to give me more info of what was going on when something went wrong.
  20. not a problem at all glad I could help out
  21. you can use this if you want to until you can et a new one up.
  22. I would try and do away with the frames if at all possible before you get to far into the site or at least read http://www.hobo-web.co.uk/tips/41.htm and http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/present/frames.html so if you must use them you are using them properly. With html5 right around the corner and web 2.0 already here even tables will be gone soon.
  23. It depends on several things. You can usually buy good links but you can get your own as well. There are a few things to consider, You should have a link page, you should links to sites that are similar in content as yours. you can contact them directly or use a link script. You also dont want to go linking to a bunchof websites with a lower pr than your site.
  24. It looks good but I would use some meta tags in the head of the pages. I know some people think they arent really used much anymore but they really are. If you need any help just ask.
