  1. i have both and the Essence of Jesus smells just like a mens cologne it smells very good, I wear it and also spray it in my car. It is Popular with men & women. When i make it in a candle people buy it, I think because of the name. Essence of Bethlehem I'm not sure, I have not smelled this one in a while, have to get it out and test again.
  2. Has anyone smelled this before? If so do you know of any FO's that my smell close to this. Powder & Pamper Febreze air effects air refreshner. It is supposed to be a special edition. Thanks
  3. Now I understand I only have pretabbed wicks, so I guess I would need some that are not pretabbed. Thanks for this helpful info. I have a sugar cookie FO that I thought I wicked up on cause I could clearly see it was a thick FO. Guess I didn't wick up enough.
  4. Can this be done with containers? Or jars that you wicked
  5. Question, when you test burn candles and you find that you have to wick up is there a way you can rewick the same candle and test instead of making a new one? I use soy wax ez soy and 415
  6. Anyone suggestions on a good throw for Apple Cinnamon FO using soy 415 or ez soy. Thanks
  7. For those who use soy wax (ez soy or 415) with no color added. Did anyone burn there candle with CO oil have a frosted ring left after blowing out the candle? I added 1 teaspoon of CO oil pp of wax and about 6-8% FO.
  8. Pumpkin Spice from taylored concepts in texas is REally GOOD. GREAT throw in soy wax. I bought some last year with the monthly sales he has just to try. It was my number one seller.
  9. I keep mine out of the light for a long time. I weight out what I need to use then put it back up. 10 years is a long time. Do you mind me asking what scent it is?
  10. I have ordered a few from Wixnwax, I use Ez soy. The ones that I have try are Love spell, gingerbread, bird of paradise, warm vanilla sugar. ALL the ones I tried had a really GOOD throw in soy wax. I ordered the same FO's from who I normally order from the candlesstoremaker the FO's smelled completely different burning in soy wax, not pleased at all. So i'm going to make some changes and try different suppilers. I want to try GOD's LOVE from wixnwax.
  11. Does anyone know where I could get hanging tags for candle jars that I can't put a label on? Also is there a way to do them yourself on a home computer and printer? Looking at both options buying or homemade. The jar by the way is the 28oz bean pot jar. I've tried the wilton printable tags, like the bridal ones but did't like those. Thanks
  12. DOes anyone have a 2" circle templae they can email me? I know the circle templates are square. I can't get through on any of the label websites to get to their templates. (labelsbythesheet, worldlabel, onlinelabels) Thanks, Corey
  13. Just want to make sure I got this straight. Lets say I want to make a 28oz candle. Weight wax in pyrex jar to about 26 oz weighted then add FO at 8% 2.05 oz. (26oz wieght wax plus 2oz FO weight) =28oz candle
  14. So everything is done by weight and not volume. Weight the wax, then weight the FO. O.K. Reason I ask is cause there are times when i have wax left over, like 1oz to 2 oz when filling jar up.
  15. I have a question been making candles for a year now but have a question. Lets say I'm making a 16 oz candle. What I do is turn presto pot on, when wax is hot pour in pyrex jar to about 15 oz add 6% to 8% FO, My question is do you weight you wax in the pyrex or whatever you use or do pour wax to the volume amount ?
  16. You know whast is funny I was about to ask the same question about soy wax users. I started out using 415 then used ez soy cause it was closer. But, I think I want to try this C-3. A supplier told me that it is different from ez soy.
  17. I started off heating wax in the microwave, then purchased a presto pot after a few months, and saw a big difference in the way my candles turned out. I think my microwave was to hot. The company I buy my suppiles from recommended adding FO right be for you pour into container to cure. I just stuck with adding it at higher temp. Maybe I'll try some tonight.
  18. I also do the same, add FO right after pouring from presto pot. Pour at slushy stage, I always get smooth tops. I got really smooth top using Beeswax or universal soy additive.
  19. Taylored Concepts and Longstar Candle supply in texas has those but, I think the www.jarstore.com has a better deal for 36 in case. Also www.soycandle.com in ky I think has the 8 oz ones and www.fancycandlejars.com. oh and www.earlyamericancandlesupplies.com has those, I think they are closer to you.
  20. I had someone request a Marijuana scented candle. That would have to be the weirdest scent, someone ever requested for a birthday joke.
  21. Ok here is the issue, Lets say I make a 16oz candle, Do I weight the candle after it is finished and put the total weight (lid and everything) on the label in oz and grams or Do I put 16 oz (# of grams) because it is a 16 oz candle?
  22. When my wife and I started %100 soy candles a year ago, the first place we tried was the candlemakersstore. We where used to candle that did not smell strong, so when we got FO from them, it was super strong to us. So far top sellers we have from them is Rainbow we change the name to Fresh Linen (Top Seller), Sugar Berry very sweet. Mango Papaya, Banana Nut Bread. All very good. Baby Powder IS VERY STRONG BUT after looking at posts from other candle makers on here and the suppilers they use I think I'm going to try peaks or NG
  23. Check www.scentforum.com, the only place I saw was http://www.saveonscents.com/ Thought I'd post a reply!
