I make candles for myself and buy a lot of my wax by the slabs. It's been my experience that the shipping on two 10 lbs slabs is the same as one.

I know yal are talking about the glass bottles but Pourette has a mold for both the big and small baby bottles.

Hi IndyGirl. No this is a round pint canning jar made by Ball. 2 1/2" to 3" dia all the way down. I've tried the 51z, 60z, and the 62z. 51z and 60z wouldn't give me a full melt pool and the 62z smoked to much. I was curious so I tried the 51z to see if it would get a full melt pool. Finally after burning 9 hour it did but still a little hangup on the sides. For each wick size I'm letting it burn 3 hours then blow it out. I do this 3 times before removing that wick. I level the tops with the blow dryer and then put in a new wick. I'm trying LX28 with the Lemongrass right now. After 2 hours of burning it has a really small melt pool and the flame is really weak almost like the wick is to small. Thanks.

Hi folks. I'm having a heck of time wicking a wide mouth pint mason jar with 4627. I've tried zincs, CD, and now I"m trying LX but so far I haven't been able to get a full melt pool in 3 hours. The ones that did give me the melt pool I wanted smoke to bad. I'm curious as to what is the widest container you have been able to single wick with this wax? Any suggestions as to what wick to try in this container? Also wondering if anyone double wicks this jar? I also have a question about scent throw in your testers. I've been using the same two containers to try to find the right wick. Sandalwood and Lemongrass both by BCN. I burn each candle at least 3 times before changing the wicks and then use the blow dryer to level the tops out. My candles don't seem as strong as when I first pour them. Does using a blow dryer burn off any of the scent? Thanks.

I’ve been making candles for myself about 3 years. During that time I’ve accumulated a collection of different waxes. I’ve got a little bit of 6006, 4630, 4627, J300 and a votive blend. I need the space and would like to use this wax up. I’ve never experimented with blending waxes and was looking for some suggestions. I have votive and tart molds and all kinds of containers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have a 17 hour clear votive mold that I got from Nature Garden and use CD4 in them. HTH Edited to add... Sorry I didn't read the whole posted before answering. I don't use your wax I used 4794 from my votives.

I had music on my web site at one time but got some many complaints about it I took it off.

While researching gel candles I read a post in the gel section that talked about gel car fresheners. It was a wickless gel candle poured into a flower pot. I want to say there was a link for a web site that had them. The post said that it could fit into the cup holder in a vehicle. I haven't tried this yet but plan to sometime in the future. HTH

Hi All. I’m going to apologize in advance for the long post but I have a few questions. I’ve been making candles for about 2 years now. I’m using J223 in 8 oz. jj with 1 oz of fo per lb of wax. For color I use liquid and reddig-glo. I have all these supplies on hand. I saw some pictures of gel chunk/soy candles and wanted to try it. I’ve never tried to make gel candles before so this is new to me. I did my research and read all the information on the board I could find before trying them. I tried some this past weekend but instead of soy I used J223. I got some hobby lobby gel (love that 40% off) and added ½ oz. fo per lb. I used liquid dye in the gel. I scented both Plumeria and I checked it to make sure that it was non-polarity. The J223 was uncolored with ½ oz. for 8 oz. of wax. Candles turned out great but I have a few questions. 1. Normally I would heat my jars but because of the gel chunks I was scared to heat them. I got all kinds of jump lines. How do you avoid jump lines when making this type of candle? 2. I love the way the liquid dye colored the gel but have a limited number of colors. Can Reddig-Glo dye chips be used in gel wax? 3. There is a difference in the melt point of these two candles. How will that effect the candle? 4. How will the differences in the amount of fo used effect this candle? (Not sure if I’m wording this right. Hope you know what I’m talking about.) 5. When wicking this candle will the wicks I use for J223 work fine? I use 51z in 8 oz. jj. I’ve testing the candles this week and got a full melt point within 3 hours with this wick. While reading the board about gel candles I read several post about the importance of leaving a layer of insulation around the container. Do I need to leave a layer of insulation around the container? Also what about the bottom of the candle. Do I need to crimp the wick so that it leaves an insulation layer on the bottom of the container too? 6. Is there anything else that I need to be looking for when making or burning these candles? If I continue to make this type of candle I will get some MP gel but since I never made gel candles and just playing around I figured the hobby lobby gel would do for this purpose. I use the large pyrex measuring cups and never had a problem with them. I melt my wax in the presto, pour the amount needed into my pyrex and then add FO and color.

www.candlesandsupplies in PA has two different kinds of tart warmers. One is like the one sold on Bittercreeks site and the other is the two piece kind where you can either burn your tarts or use the bottom for wickless candles. Last time I looked they were around $6.50 for each kind. They don't require at tax id number but they high on shipping.

I use C&S and never had a problem with them. I did noticed the last time I ordered wax from them shipping was $20 per case I always call my order in so I know exactly what the shipping charge is.

Thanks for the replies. I got my color wheel out but its not helping much. Think I'll just use the red to get pink but would really like to get the mauve right. Demenshia do you remember how much you mixed to get the mauve color? Mine turned out a really dark purple.

I wasn't using their colors so that might be it. I do have a color wheel but I dont see where it tells me the amounts to use such as 4 parts of this and 1 part of that. Is there a color wheel out there that will tell me this? I am trying to come up with a color line to match my candles but you are limited on the colors that come in b&b products so I figured I would try to mix my own.
