  1. Peak's .............. hands down! I pour it all the time in J223 and it is da bomb! Fantastic throws (both cold & hot). Very strong. Ginger
  2. No!! I have had absolutely no luck in getting a response from them for the past 3-4 months! I used them for my labels for two years and loved their customer service and work product, but can get nothing from them now. Their website has been updated since my last order, but they will not answer e-mails. I tried placing an order online just to get through to them, but got an auto response that if I did not send my check in 10 days that it would be automatically cancelled. I can not order my labels through their online system because it is my personal design and can not be duplicated online. I am disgusted and distressed in not being able to reach them. I loved their work! Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks, Ginger
  3. OK........ No one will EVER convince me that the good old J223 formula hasn't been tinkered with. I opened a new case today and thought it looked different..... Well! I put 7 lbs. in my Presto Pot to melt and once melted, the entire bottom of the pot is full (and I mean covered!) with bubbles. There are globuls of water collecting and when touched with a stir stick, they rise to the top and explode. Checked the case and there is a sticker which reads: PARAFFLEX 4633/ASTOR-LITE J-223 *Yes, it has two f's I've had a problem with J223 before having water in it, but this stuff looks like it is going to be nothing but problems! Anyone else? Ginger
  4. Thanks for your input. I love the med fig and have it in my lineup now; have poured the lavender (which is probably the strongest I've ever poured!), but not a large call for it or the Mountain Pine around here. Wish I could find several others that strong!!!!! LOL Will check into the Green Tea and Almond Pastries. Thanks again. Ginger
  5. I've been using Peaks FOs exclusively for the past two years and am presently pouring about 30 of them. I've noticed a few new ones and would like some opinions on the strongest FO's you've found they carry (new & old). I pour J223 and like (as do my customers) scents that will really knock you down and stomp on you when you walk in the room! Would appreciate all input! Thanks, Ginger
  6. Yes......... very interesting in your upcoming publication. How will you notify us when/where/etc.? Thanks, Ginger
  7. Seems I've looked at every supplier on the web today and still can't find one who stocks these jars. My original supplier no longer carries them. Does anyone know where I can find these? Thanks!!! Ginger
  8. I am going to try my hand at mixing these two to make my chunks, but I thought I would try J223 75% + votive wax 25% for starters. My concerns are: (1) My standard zinc wicks in the same size container as my regular J223 candles being able to handle the votive wax to get an even melt; and, (2) The chunks holding enough FO. Do I need to wick UP if I use chunks? All suggestions and hints will be appreciated!!! Thanks, Ginger
  9. Just wondering if anyone has mixed these two waxes and what the outcome was. I'm thinking of mixing 80% J223 with 20% Harmony Blend to see what happens. Would like to hear what anyone has to say about having done this and what percentages were used. Results? Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays! Ginger
  10. Hi, Trish - You had pm'd me back in the summer that you use HTPs with the HB. I use HTPs with my 4627 (which I know you hate!), but sounds like the HB doesn't have to wicked up as much as the 4627. I'm mostly using double 104's in my 4" apoths poured with the 4627. Was never able to successfully single wick the apoths in 4627. I pour the keepsakes with J223, but still hate the wet spots. (I've NEVER learned to embrace them.........) I'm happy with the J223 except for the wet spots. Does the Harmony Blend develop LESS wet spots than the J223? Guess I'll start testing tonight. If anyone else has any opinions or results on the Harmony Blend, please jump right on in here! Thanks, Ginger
  11. I haven't poured much over the summer months and have become mentally challenged on what I thought I had read about wicking the Harmony Blend. Can't find it in a search either! So, sorry in advance if this is repetitive! As I recall, I had read on the board that wicking the Harmony Blend is just like wicking J223. Very, very similar to work with, but less wet spots. I plan to start testing it in 4" diam apoth jars and 3.5" keepsake jars with zinc wicks, although I also have HTP wicks on hand. Does double wicking the apoth with 51 z and single wicking the keepsake with a 60z sound like a good place to start? IGI suggests HTP wicks however. Would appreciate any suggestions from those using Harmony Blend! Thanks! Ginger
  12. Yes, I forgot to mention that I have poured a sample of the Cappuccino Hazelnut & German Choc Cake both. I really liked them. I will more than likely be pouring all of those, but also looking for a straight chocolate....... something like smells like a Hershey Bar. I tried a sample of an FO called just that (Hershey Bar) last year from another supplier (other than Peaks) and it smelled like burned chocolate.......... yuck! The Roasted Coffee FO sounds nice. Thanks everyone, Ginger
  13. I haven't poured much over the hot summer months and am behind the times! I'm looking for some great chocolate and coffee FO's for the holidays. I poured a sample of Peaks' Hot Fudge Brownie a while back and liked it. Haven't tried the Hot Cocoa yet, but will also order that one. What other "chocolates" are good? Also, need suggestions on some "coffee" FO's. The stronger the better for my tastes! Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Ginger
  14. I REALLY like your shelves. I've been looking for shelves that are sturdy enough to hold the weight of candles. Do you mind saying what brand they are and where you found them? Thanks, Ginger
  15. I use the 4627 Comfort Blend nearly exclusively; but have been testing and toying with the J223 also. Just ordered some of the Harmony Blend to see what it's like.
