  1. You shouldn't need TD with BRV. At least in the three kinds I soaped, TD wasn't needed. Here's how I mess with TD. If you have water soluable, put it in a cup and had a little water (very little actually). If it's oil soluable, then pull a little bit of oil from your melted oils and dissolve it in that. I use roughly between 1/4 to 1/2 tsp (probably closer to 1/2). When the soap is made, I pull off about 1/4 cup and mix it. After I have pulled other colors, I will add the TD to what's left and mix it. Two nights ago I had a yellow batch going (w/o) adding yellow. I used the TD and I have a creamy white or slightly off white color, which is a relief. The yellow wasn't going to go with my other colors. One thing to remember about TD, it will affect all colors in your batch unless you separate it. Sometimes it can totally alter the initial color and sometimes it makes a color better.
  2. Awe man, it's a rich to medium resinous fragrance that is intoxicating and beautiful if you like this kind of stuff. It is definitely not rich and earthy and dark and somewhat sweet like patchouli. I'd say a little more powdery, but it's quite nice if you get the right DB.
  3. I'd take it off the heat too. I'm also going to suggest that you can wait longer to make your second pour too ... just so you don't end up with a cratered surface. I'm guessing you have a votive candle mold making kit? That's the only one I can think of that would say pour and then add wick.
  4. At this point I would take anything lol! I am disappointed in this workbook type of thing I got. I thought it would be more specific about what crimps, clamps, eye pins etc. are used for. Lord I've bought enough hardware, but probably nothing that goes together. I am going to make my own beads. I just don't want to make stuff and suddenly have all these balls and nothing to do with them.
  5. Thanks for the ideas. I've been watching videos Just need to figure out a few things still.
  6. 5, because I can read it. Until these posts, I thought you were going for Sherrywood. I also don't like a bare tree as it symbolizes death or sleep, but that is here, not there.
  7. A lot of Peak's fragrances soap just fine! I have only soaped about 8-10 of them though. A lot of them work just fine in candles too. I can't comment on all of them. I have to use up what I have before I get to add much. I have not found any of them to morph or to lose their scent in soaps.
  8. Wish Irena would come on and talk about that clear acrylic though. I can't stop wanting one lol. And I do like SH molds. I keep thinking I might want a silicone one, but then I'll be the one who tears it after its third or fourth use.
  9. Camden's 40/42 works for me and Peak definitely sticks.
  10. Thanks all! What I love is that it has kept its color. Want to know why that is lol. It never does that!
  11. Strawberry always discolored on me too so keep us updated on how it does.
  12. I want to know if that FO survives cure!! I like the colors. Looks like ash is coming on, but it's always cleanable too. Are you trying out different recipes or just staying with the one you use? While TKB doesn't have the pop colors any more, you know you saw some colors you're gonna want lol! I gel because I can't stand to wait for it to harden. If it's a milk though, I don't gel those. Hard to explain why I do what I do. I listened to so many people who don't soap any more that I guess I just do what they told me to do.
  13. I think that might end up being its name ... but I still haven't decided lol.
  14. Not sure why you bought the floral wax. That's used for blending I think.
  15. Oh that fruit loops would be a good one. There's a smarties fragrance out there somewhere. That might work for candy scented soaps. Also, if you're looking for Xmas, there's a good candy cane that Rhonda at Moonworks carried. See if she still has it. I think she does. And I lost my thought on the rest of that.
  16. I go up in % and then if that doesn't work, I go find one that will work for me.
  17. ONly tried LS and it was butternut pumpkin. It's delish!! Strong hot throw, will make a good brown soap too.
  18. Fingers crossed here too then. I have VS and apparently plenty of it, but never put it to use. Your soap may convince me to try.
  19. Well now! That's an about face from giving it up lol!
  20. Any time!! LOL! There are some absolutely gorgeous colors in her mix.
  21. Why not! Maybe we can call them shatterless candles ... now that ought to rile people up.
  22. TKB has some too. BTW, you can load up on colors there too lol!
  23. LOL! I'll wait for you to get one Hate me now! I'm thinking I'll be asking for one for Christmas and maybe the next 10 Christmases since I want a Soap Hutch multi log vertical acrylic and that has to cost some cash right? I want to see a nonvendor's photo of the soap working and I want to be sure that the fragrances or essentials used in it won't ruin the surface. It's a lot of cash to drop (regardless if they are $20 to $1,000) only to be able to use like twice KWIM?
