  1. LOL! I should probably do the same thing! I'll tell about them if I can make them work, is that fair?
  2. No it's not. It can actually get your city or county in trouble because of its toxicity.
  3. Trying to get around to making them lol! I will get 'er done. Need to sort through all that I bought and figure out if I have what I want type of thing. I don't know how creatively colored they will be. I've been trying to think of what I could do to make that happen. I'm not going to be working with clays, plastics or resins so this leaves a lot of studying on my part.
  4. Never dispose of down the drain! Take to the city or county dump if they've gone truly rancid.
  5. And I'm still leaving the offer out there for anyone who wants to teach!!
  6. Yes, ma'am. I'm not looking to make a typical type of bead. These will be scented products lol. I still have to learn how to put it altogether into something that is not labeled as beads there and rigamaroll there.
  7. Doesn't The Scent Works have one?
  8. OK I'm behind on weeding out who is out of business and I think we need to get this list updated (adding new companies too ... from anywhere) so if you would, please list the OOBs and the incomings (any links to the homepage of those sites are appreciated!) and if you know the company's abbreviation ... feel free to post it and I'll get this sorted and added etc.
  9. As long as they are body safe you can use them! It has been my understanding that SOS works best in bath and body products, but do try out other suppliers too. You are not planning to use the fragrances straight right?
  10. If they work for you though, use them and compare them against other suppliers too. All FOs are hit and miss too. I can't think of one company where all of their FOs worked for me
  11. They're allowed to say. I know which one nana talks of. I knew the person it happened to unless it happened to more than one person.
  12. Have you used SOS fragrances in anything? I've not been a fan of their FOs. They have a fine out of bottle scent, but that peeters out in candles. The Vanilla Queen is Day-Star.
  13. OK so what happened? What made you think they didn't work?
  14. Wow. Well mine all came in a cube. Glad they helped ya!
  15. Doubtful. It will be chunky and not likely to incorporate. You are not making a scrubby bar. Just make your batch, put it in the box, insulate well, put it on a heating pad if you don't want to do the cookie sheet in the oven thing and check it in an hour or so. And yes, you cut soon after that hour. If it's a slushy mess, don't cut it. You can't wait for them to cool down too much or you won't be cutting through them. Give it a day to sit and try one. With the recipe I use, I can use my bars the next day without a problem. Just going to add that you need to remember that the salt bars are going to be hot. There are no pictures here and forget about the six to 12 color process, but the rest of the tutorial should help you along. http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?62607-Angry-Clown-Salt-Bars-by-Grumpy-Girl
  16. I haven't soaped sandalwood EOs, just the cheaper replacement consideration for it. My experience with sandalwood is that it behaves a lot like patchouli ... it should be a dream. It's what you add to it that could become the problem.
  17. You don't have to stir the no stir kind (soaper's choice specifically says it's a no-stir palm). If you've got a complete liquid, I really can't answer that one. I would suggest looking in the bottle to make sure there's nothing on the bottom though. If there is that needs to be incorporated in the rest of the oil before you use it. Call and talk to Mike at Soaper's Choice too though. He's awesome!
  18. Put your shoe boxes on a warm cookie sheet. What you want to do is put them into an oven that has already been warmed ... turn the oven off before you put your box in and leave it for an hour. It shouldn't destroy anything, but just keep an eye on it. With the oven off, the cardboard isn't going to catch fire (or it shouldn't.) Another way is to wrap the devil out of your mold, place it on a heating pad set on a low temp and leave it alone for an hour or so. You need to force the gel. Be sure to cut right away.
  19. Bites! I don't use the inserts on my slab molds because the mistys sort of require lining, but I would love to use the inserts (and do on the big boy). I love the way those inserts pull the designs downward. Also though with that mold you're showing, it would be sweet to have lots of multiple combos in a mold (that's why I love the soaphutch lol!) ... and you knew I'd plug that lol.
  20. For starters though ... what kind of mold?
  21. Interesting formations. Visit http://www.safecosmeticsalliance.org/ There's a petition on the site. This comes off Personal Care Truth blog post, which can be seen at http://personalcaretruth.com/2011/09/nation%e2%80%99s-cosmetic-and-personal-care-industry-announces-safe-cosmetics-alliance/
  22. That's the foam inside isn't it? You are trying to be tempting aren't you? LOL!
  23. Wow!! Love the looks you're getting! Cannot say I am into TD, but then again I can't say I'm not. How cool!
