  1. I like cinnamon stick from The Scented Bean. Smells just like a cinn stick, to me...
  2. So what was it? That sounds yummah!
  3. I just think this is so unright to have someone trashing daystar based on thinking an oil was bad. I had a lady one time, a big customer, tell me that one of my candles was bad...it was wildberry crisp from ky, and she said it smelled like rotten peaches and that it was turning the color of rotten peaches...this fo does discolor... I have a no refund policy, too... This woman wouldn't take another candle... and she was one of my best and first customers...had she decided to ruin my business...she probably could have made a huge dent...and she realized that power, and decided it wasn't worth it for a candle... I mean, is this really worth it? for 10 pounds of fo or 1 pound of fo, is it really worth dragging someone's name through the mud because you think the oil was bad??? Aren't we all in this together as small businesses and don't you need to find some rational kind of way to deal with this? If she is really selling bad oils, or oils cut with mineral loil...her business is going to fail anyway...so what is the point of all this ugliness??? Not to mention the fact that Stacy is one of the best people in this business that I know. blah....this really erks me!
  4. Julia, Millcreek has a Mikishi grapefruit that smells close. HTH! Marica
  5. So does anyone know if they carry the lids for the 11 ounce libbey tumblers? I am looking for metal/silver lids. Thanks!
  6. Looks awesome, Jakalex! Looks like tons of hard work, but huge variety! I would name the apple layered Apple Orchard... Other than that, IMO, it is perfect!
  7. Try Ky, they carry all three... Get Birthday cake, and if it isn't sweet and wedding cake enough, add some coconut cream pie... Her honey do is yumma... And she has cocoa, too... not sure if they are dupes of what you are looking for, but it is worth a shot!
  8. goodlooking cowboy is gone gone gone...;( I just had a sample and loved it, though. Plenty other good ones... Cake Batter Forbidden Pom Paradise Incredible Baked Cherry Delight Fresh Lemon Slices Wrangler Wish I had tried more! Everything I have tried from her is yumma! yumyum!
  9. I love these containers, too.. just used them for myself so far, but am going to get some for Christmas sets... everyone that sees them goes ga-ga over them... And yours are very gorgeous! Love them in sets of three! You rock!
  10. Yeah, yellow and brown...twice as much yellow as brown.....say 4 drops yellow and two drops brown...
  11. sandra, how much do you need? I can get you some out!
  12. lol Ronnie...it's not a riddle. Thanks for your help!
  13. I say up the ewax or you can just leave the btms out. Btms adds to the thickness and emoiliency of the formula...it leaves a feel that is hard to describe. Also, helps thick butter feel more smooth and creamy and soak in better...also the after feel is different with btms. Looks like that recipe has enough goodies in it, though, and should do fine... It should be fine if you want to just leave it out...perhaps try a small batch that way and see if it is worth you ordering some btms for a larger batch later...
  14. it imparts something yummy, so I highly recommend that you get some, if possible. Does the recipe call of e-wax? You can up the e-wax percentage by half of what the btms would be, then add the rest as water... for example... If the recipe calls for 3% btms, add 1.5% more ewax and 1.5% to the water when leaving out the btms. If there is no ewax in the recipe...then use eax instead of btms in the full amount. BTMS is really nice, though. It won't be the same.
  15. Thanks Ronnie and Carole! so, then in a 4 inch jar...a full melt pool in three hours is acceptable? with double wicks, of course.
  16. I think I had some lotion with sweetcakes in it... it is yummy for sure.. and is it good in your candles? Thanks for your help!
  17. Hey everyone... I am using a 70/30 blend in a jar that is 4 inches wide. I have tried to single wick this blend, but don't care for the burn with a single wick, so am trying to wrap my mind around double wicking... I have been double wicking with rrds, and I love the throw, but the candle is reaching full melt pool way faster than it does with a single wick... So, what I am asking, is do you expect, with 2 wicks in a cotnainer, that the melt pool is going to take half the time as it is two wicks? Or, should you be getting full melt pool in the same amount of time as with one large wick? One part of me says, "that melt pool is way to fast..." and the other part says..."there is no way you could get this candle to burn with two smaller wicks..." So...what is the standard here? Thanks for your help!
  18. I also meant to say that with the 415 I always used 9%, and have cut back to 6% with the blends and am getting as good or better throw with the blends even with the lower percentage of fo.
  19. the throw in my blend as opposed to the 415 alone is better. I am trying some different blends, and the cold throw with the 415 is the best, but the hot throw is better with some parrafin blended in. Hth!
  20. Hey everyone, I currently have lemon Pound Cake from BCS and it is a slow seller...i like it, but it doesn't blow my socks off... which lemon scent makes your mouth water? This is in a soy/para blend! Thanks!
  21. I took it she is having someone else make the soap... I think 2 ounce per lb is too much. If you find a good scent for soap, 1 ounce per lb is usually MORE than enough. Also, scent in soap isn't meant to stay on the skin, it is supposed to rinse away with the soap, so your testers might have been expecting more scent to linger...same with the fbb...so you might just need to let them know a heavy lingering scent, as with a leave on product, is acheived by layering your products with a lotion or body spray applied last to acheive a longer lasting lingering scent. HTH!
  22. I had the same thing happen with orange vanilla. I was certain it was mixed well, but it seeped anyway and made one horrible mess in those jars...
