  1. I used the old greenleaf also - I tried their new wax and it does not work in clamshells - wouldn't release, frosted bad and lumpy tops. I spoke with Brenda and she is getting back the old stuff which works great in my clamshells.
  2. I use the 70/30 also and I think its great. I get great hot and cold throw. I do agree with Holly about the melt pool, it is much deeper by the wick then it is if you look at the glass on the outside. (Seems to burn down alot quicker then out).
  3. Here are a picture of my clameshells - you can use these labels up and down to cover almost the whole clamshell. I just wanted the customer to see the color from the front. The link is below to the avery site. http://www.avery.com/us/Main?action=product.Details&catalogcode=WEB01&productcode=6572
  4. Thanks - I just ordered some online. I will also go down and pick some up since I won't get those for a couple of days.
  5. I figured that just wondering if anyone tried. Can I use a regular brown box for it - or do I have to use the priority boxes only? Thanks for your help
  6. Can you use these boxes to ship other then using the flat rate. I need to ship something thats going to cost about 6.00 if I go by weight. I only have the flat rate boxes that usps sent me.
  7. She is adorable - This is the reason why we have kids - so they can eventually work for us :smiley2:.
  8. If you would like send me and email with one of your pictures and I will try and resize it with a better quality. I have software to do this. Then if you like it I will do the others for you.
  9. I use FileZilla - works great http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/
  10. I am using volusion - http://www.volusion.com/ I haven't finished my website yet - I will send you a PM with the link so you can see what I have made so far. They do have a members only option - but I didn't really look into that much - but they have plenty of info on their site along with a message board. Also you can sign up for a free 2 week trial.
  11. I used the nicknames of my son (munchie) and daughter (beanie) - MunchieBean Candle Company.
  12. I just inquired about product liablility from them today (I am from NY also), and they gave me a "pre-quote" of $250 for $1 Million Product and $5,000 content. I will get the full quote either the end of the day or tomorrow. So just want to say thanks Chris for the help!
  13. This is a really great scent - I use an eco 6 in an 8 oz jelly jar with this scent (70/30 greenleaf). I use eco 4's and eco 6's and this one needed the eco 6. HTH
  14. Here is a place - never ordered from them before. http://www.acandleco.com/index.cfm/fa/categories.main/parentcat/4155
  15. Your in a tough situation - It depends on how much of a risk taker you are. Starting any business is risky - but you can control the amount of risk you want to take. Almost every business starts off shakey. I really don't have an answer for you - but just look at Bill Gates - started Microsoft from a garage.
  16. Totaly Funky - I like that. I think funky monkey is going to get one heck of a logo. I like this idea of the "battle of the logos" Did anyone come up with a winning price? NattyCat - Very cool.
  17. Nothing to do with the logo but this is one of your must have scents... http://www.naturesgardencandles.com/candlemaking-soap-supplies/item/rf-031
  18. For craft fairs and internet sales is Sole Prop with product liability insurance enough - or should it be LLC with product liability insurance.
  19. thats pretty funny - I think I need to stay at a Holiday Inn Express... I did a couple of more tests last night with a single melt - there was some smoking but very little - I let it burn for a while then blew out the tea light and then took the temp of the wax (190 degrees). This seems like it would be ok - since I compared it to a yankee tart burning for the same amount of time and the same wax temp. So could that smoke or steam just be fo realeasing? I have checked a lot of other websites that sell these and everyone says use one or two. Now I could also say the the reason for the single pieces is so that you can combine scents 1 of one scent and 1 of another.
  20. Thanks candle man thats perfect - hows this... Caution:Failure to follow instructions could result in fire hazard, injury or smoke damage. Place 2 pieces of wax melts in well ventilated, tart approved burner. Using less than 2 pieces can cause smoking and possible fire. Do not add water. Never heat on stove or any non-certified tart appliance. Do not allow flame to touch underside of melt pot. Do not heat if pot contains less than 1/2" of wax. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning melt and/or candle unattended.
  21. I guess I just need some reassurance. Thanks - I will put that on my warning.
  22. Yeah I guess I kinda answered my own question - but I guess I was just wondering if people put on their warnings or directions for use that they should use 2 pieces at one time. I find it weird that the packaging is made so that one piece is to little.
