  1. I have purchased the new clear molds, with silcome base - Anyone familiar with using these? The removable base prevents you from picking up and dipping in cold water to set. Any advise would be appreciated. AndiWood
  2. I use hot water to clean everything - works great Question of the plastic molds - just purchased the poly carb mold with the silicone base - have not made a pour yet, how does this work - base is not attached - the mold just kinda sits on it - so I cannot pick it up and do a cold water dip to set - any comments or advise I would appreciate Andiwood
  3. Thank you Donita - I saw alot of these sell at a show I was at and the picture I took does not do it justice - it is unique - thanks for the link
  4. Anyone know how to make this candle? I just love it Andi Wood
  5. Answer to why copyright? I am a candle fanatic and love to see new creations. There are some really beautiful ones out there, I am a fan of small business and crafters, I have seen many new ideas and I often see the mass producers taking these ideas and making them their own. I have read up on copyrights and wondered what you all thought, is it worth it, etc. Thanks for your responses
  6. Can you copyright your candle designs? I see that copyright note on many websites? Would love to hear your responses. AndiWood
  7. Thank you so much for this site - what great info -we all should read - there will be a test later AndiWood:wink2:
  8. Thanks all for your replies- I am off to google and the guild Andi Wood:cool2:
  9. Where can I get some information regarding soy wax,vs. veg wax vs. bee wax vs. parafin? Doing craft fairs for my first year has been alot of fun, I have met some super people (crafters) and heard pros and cons of wax types and use and benefits - would like to get the real facts. Examples: Was told that burning parafin candles will kill a pet bird? There are many more but you all get my drift. Thanks so much Andi Wood
  10. Jeanette You stated add 1 TBSP to wax before whipping it What am I adding to make it whiter? Thanks so much:wink2:
  11. Hey All: I bought a mixer at a dollar store and found a small container to whip the wax. It did turn out nicely but not what I was looking for. I want that effect inside my candle shell - this method pretty much was for the top - and did exactly what you all told me it would. I am on another quest to figure out how to make my candle wax look like it is whipped but more lumpy - like it has a dimension to it. Thanks so much Andi Wood
  12. Thank you all for your response - I am going to try this weekend I will keep you all posted on the progress. AndiWood
  13. Can you tell me a little about this technique? Can you do it by hand and at what temperature? Will the end result make the wax look like whipped creamy ? I would love to try this if I had a little direction. Thanks so much AndiWood
  14. I think I will try the double boiler - I used a hot plate and a cookie sheet -did not like result. Thanks so much I will also try to do the pour in layers - I will let you know how that turns out I was under impression I had to one pour to keep my wall smooth and shiny and intact - but I have remelted a few trying new things. Thanks again
  15. Thank you for your response. My question is I put lots of embeds in walls and some stay put but a few will float or sink after I make my pour-yes I use insert - When you say use chunks of wax - do you mean embed the embeds in the chunks before I pour? Thanks
