  1. This is the wax I currently use. I pour at 185 or sometimes higher, but I put in the FO about 2 seconds before pouring. I pour at a hot temp because it reduces the bubbles (thats my personal experience). I have only used 1oz per Lb due to the fact that I only have samples so far. 1 oz tend to be good but it depends on the FO, some throw better than others.
  2. Hi, I am currently using the apothecary jar but recently decided to switch. I am looking for a smaller jar with a cleaner finish. I saw this jar on line (so cute) and I am curious about what kind of jar it is and where can u buy it? How difficult do you think it will be to wick?:undecided
  3. How about... http://www.fillmorecontainer.com/default.asp http://www.jarstore.com/ http://www.paplin.com/candle_containers.htm#a I order from the jar store and they are pretty good. You just have to know if you like seamless or seamed...from my experience so far, seamless is pretty but the jars tend to get very hot because it is thinner.
  4. WOW!!! Love the look of the site. I agree with Meredith_D, the picture of the jars should be bigger. Your logo looks great. Congrats and good luck!
  5. So I decided to bite the bullet and order from both. SOS samples will be ready by tomorrow. According to Carrie from RA I will have to 3-4 weeks for my samples ($2 each+shipping) . However, she was much nicer than the person I spoke to before. Will update you all! Thanks again,
  6. Hi Everyone! Thanks sooooo much for your input. I guess it is one of those situations where you really just have to try each company and make up your own opinion. I used Peak before and they were great...I was just hoping to find a bigger company close by. Thanks again!
  7. I have a dilemma- I am truing to decide if R=Royal Aromatics' FO are better than Save on Scents. Both have their pros and cons. AR has a wider supply but requires a $50 min purchase. Since I have never purchased from this company before I am slightly hesitant. They will send you samples, but it would take 4 weeks to process. I am completely out so waiting for samples for 4 weeks is not an option. Based on my searches within other threads, it seems like most agree that SOS has the best dups. Some also believe that their scents perform best in soaps, as oppose, to candles. I guess my question is, based on everyone's experience, which company’s scents are more reliable for candles? Both are relatively located close to me, so the dreaded shipping is not a problem. Any feedback would be appreciated and thanks to everyone in advance!
  8. Thanks Topofmurrayhill! I visited the website and they do have the shipping at a cheaper price. Is this the first time you going to use 4630? what cantainer wax do you normally use? Thanks again for the quick response!
  9. Hi everyone, My first few container candles were made from IGI 4630 and they came out great! However, because of the high shipping cost (peak-new jersey) I considered switching wax. I received a sample of CBL 125 from Candlewic and was excited to try it. However, so far I am disappointed. I made three 4oz container candles with three types of wicks (44-32-18, htp and cotton core). The scent throw-both hot and cold- were poor. I am considering testing a different wax (j223 or another CBL). I loved the results from IGI 4630...can anyone suggest another wax that can produce the same hot and cold scent throw. Or can you give feedback on your experience with any of these waxes. PLEASE HELP! Thanks :-)
  10. Don't know the answer, but I had a similar question. I wanted to mix CBL125 and J223. I am waiting to hear the responses to your question. Good Luck!
  11. Hi Lauren, I found a site that helps you pick a specific wick for your wax. I haven’t tried any of the recommendation as yet, but I hope it can help you. The host site is candlesupply.com. http://server.com/WebApps/db-view.cgi?id=71493 Candlenubie:wink2:
