  1. Yes I did add color. The picture does not show the true color. The soap is a dark salmon color that I colored with Micas.
  2. I love this scent! I used a Pringles mold for this one. Sorry, I need a tutorial in how to minimize pictures, LOL.
  3. I was feeling very disappointed but all of you really know how to lift up my soap spirit. I don’t know the name of the scent. I purchased it at Michaels while I wait for my order of FO to arrive from brambleberry.
  4. This is my 2nd batch of CP. I tried to do a swirl on my log mold but it did not come out so good. I can't wait to do the swirls like the pros! Lots of practice for me in the near future.
  5. Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions. I can't wait to try another batch!! MaryinCary I see that you are from Illinois, so am I. I am in Chicago, IL. Yippy.
  6. 400 drops per pound. Wow! I was way low on my scent. Live and learn, I guess that is part of the fun.
  7. ChrisR. Thanks for the suggestion. I would definitely try that. I smelled some natural soap at Whole Foods that had a nice orange smell to it, loved it. That is why I wanted my first soap to smell like fresh orange. Oh well, I hope the lather is good.
  8. Mitchi thanks for the soap compliment. I can't smell the EO at all. I added like about 20-25 drops. Don't know if that was enough. I know that a tongue test is a must but I think I would have my husband do that part for now. Who knows what his answer will be.
  9. Here is a picture of my first soap. It is colored with paprika, which gives the soap a nice light orange color (the best I could describe the color). It also has oatmeal. It is scented with sweet orange EO but the scent did not hold. Hopefully it came out ok. I am not brave enough to try the tongue test. Sorry for the big picture, I don't know how to minimize it.
  10. Crafty1 - I have the Crisco pure vegetable oil. The only ingredient is shows is soybean oil. Is this okay? pixie - Thanks for your suggestion. I would try and find the Coconut and Palm at Super Walmart. Wish me luck!
  11. This will be the first time I would be doing a batch of soap, and I would like to use what I already have at home if possible. I currently have the following ingredients: Olive oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, vegetable oil and lard. Is it possible to create a good soap with what I have? What amounts should I include of each oil? I have tried to find coconut oil and palm oil at the local grocery store to no availability. I would like to start with what I have available to give soap making a try before ordering oils online. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
