It's not the wax. The apple started to throw better. It was stronger in the larger wick I tested but that one was sooting and too hot. Going to do a test with the smaller wick and increase my FO to 10%

This was my first batch made from this lot of wax. Oh me I hope it isn't the wax. I'll be pouring up some that I know throw well soon so maybe that will tell me.

Man I was near Aztec so went in and bought my fall/winter lineup. I hope they aren't all weak. I had read good reviews on their FO. Some even saying they buy all theirs from them now. I normally use CS or Flaming Candle.

Love this scent bought from Aztec. Poured up some test candles and melts using 6006. The oil smells amazing but I'm getting very little cold throw and trying the melts and they aren't throwing like I'd like. I started with 9% so can't raise it much. Anyone else had any trouble with this scent or could it be something I've done?

Premier Wicks 700 series for 6006. Probably 735 or 745. Trust me I tested almost everything and Premier is by far the best option. CD was close but not good enough

Thanks all! I ordered some wax from a different supplier and thought the lot number would be on the cases, but it wasn't. I ordered 10 lbs. below the full case size and I don't know if they gathered all from the same lot. I'll just have to test each block. Next time I'm getting the full case and saving myself all this testing time.

Another question if I have a great burn test but my HT needs to be stronger would raising it 1 to 1.5% require a new test or would it be so minimal that it should bee good?

Any updates? I use 6006 and use premier wicks. They are the only ones I could get to work properly. I do mushroom at times but little to zero sooting. Testing can be very tiresome. I'm testing right now with 2 new scents. One is throwing great the other is very faint.

So how will I know which wick to baseline test to? I'm using 6006 and premier wicks but each FO typically requires a different wick. I use 725 and 735 mostly. Should I got with the most common wick and make sure I get a proper melt with minimal soot?

If you order the same type of wax do you retest every recipe with your new batch? Like if I established a 735 with thos FO in 6006 and my batch of 6006 runs out and I order more. Do you think it's necessary to test every batch?

Been there. Premier works best in 6006 from what I've seen. Each FO changes things. Had one that went with 735 and one that tunnels with 750. Test another FO now and 745 and 750 soothing. CD was the closest I've had to the premier 700 series.- 7 replies

700 series has been working great. 8% fo 8 oz square mason 735 wick

I'm semi close to the Flaming Candle. I wish they still had a store front to smell scents but they don't anymore. Thinking of doing a drive when we get to actually taking orders and selling.

Thanks everyone! Working on getting my wicking down. Feel good knowing these are smelling great. Gave some for testing and they love them.

Who is your preferred supplier for wax? Who do you favor for FO? Anyone us The Flaming Candle? I started with CS but thinking of switching to The Flaming Candle. Super helpful and better pricing on several items.
