    I've been making candles for about a year now, and having sold a few to co workers and friends...so of course I didn't label them. I'm just now starting to get into packaging and designing a label and wondered what info y'all put on your labels? Thanks in advance.

    Thanks so much for the suggestions. I don't know why it never crossed my mind to level it before taking it out of the mold...I'm going to try this tonight.

    I was curious how y'all get your pillar candles completely level. I always just did mine with a pan over boiling water and gauged it by eye, but recently I had someone order 15 from me, and after I finished I lined them up on the counter. EVERYONE was a bit different. Some slightly different in height, and some slightly leaning one way or the other. I thought about buying a small "level" at Lowes or something, but since everyone here is so helpful, I wanted to ask for opinions first.

    Hey everyone...I was wondering if there were any books that detailed how to make decorative carved candles. It looks like a very detailed process, and I'd like to give it a try. I googled "how to make carved candles" but didn't come up with anything. Any ideas?

    Thanks for the suggestions. And this IS a new batch of wax that's doing this. It's still the same kind (IDI 4625), but a new batch. That REALLY stinks if that's the problem and you can't depend on the wax to be the same with each order. Maybe tonight I'll try some 1343 and see what happens.

    I wanted to try metal tape to hold my wicks in place because the mold sealer stuff seems to get all over the wick. But I don't know where to find metal tape. Thought about trying Wal Mart, but with a store that big, I could be looking for hours. Thanks!

    I've been selling a good many candles at work and to friends. Eveyone always talks about how great they smell...but I've noticed that the smell is very strong at first, but then after a few weeks, you have to put the candle right up to your nose to smell it. Is that normal? I know with the color, you can add UV to help the color stay, but is there anything like that for the smell? Thanks!

    I have a question about the "overpour" wax. (is overpour the right word?) I did a search and saw that most additives make the wax more opaque. But I read somewhere on the net that UA doesn't make it THAT much more opaque. So, if I use 1343 with UA, do y'all think that would leave it transparant enough to work well with embeds? Thanks for any opinions.
