I bought some of both and tested, but ended up going with the 494. Hot throw in both is great, so I just decided to go with the no paraffin aspect, simply for selling point.

I was looking to order some FO from Nature’s Garden, but I notice theirs are measured in fluid ounces, whereas most other places measure them by weight. Just curious, from those that have bought FO by volume vs weight, I was wondering how much of a difference there is. My guess is that FO would be heavier than water, so if I’m looking to buy 1 lb of FO, what would the approximate fl oz be?

Would you recommend the Ky Para-Soy Tart & Votive Blend Wax or the GW 494 for wax melt/tarts? Which one gives the best hot throw?

I’m looking to switch to all soy melts. I have heard good things about GW 494, so I was planning on purchasing some to make melts with. The dealers suggest 1 oz of fragrance oil per pound of wax (6%). Is that sufficient to get a good throw or is it better to bump it up to 8% to 10%. I know the 494 is capable of up to 10% (seen 12% some places). For those of you who have experience with it, what have you found to be a good percentage (I know different oils may be stronger or weaker than others). Thanks in advance!
