  1. At Just Scent, we take internet safety very serious. I personally do over 90% of my personal shopping on line. Internet safety is always a concern for me as well as my customers. We have done everything we can to implement a secure system. Our credit card payments are all processed thru First Data. I have a BA in Computer Science and Engineering as well as most Microsoft Certifications and still chose to outsource our internet safety to people who specialize in this daily. Our shopping cart is provided by Shop Site - who is PCI compliant and has been audited and certified to be in compliance with the PABP/PA DSS requirements. In order to be in compliance with PCI requirements, merchants must use a PABP certified shopping cart which has been properly configured in accordance with the guidelines. We do not store any credit card information in our computers. Regardless of the method of payment our customers use, all orders processed thru Just Scent are done via a secure web server. At the time you place your order, you will automatically receive an email receipt for your transaction as all orders are processed at the time you place your order. We will also receive an email notification of the order. We print a packing slip that is included with each order that also has no credit card information or payment information listed. Credit card information is not viewable to anyone. In order to view any credit card information we must log on to a database located on our secure server, off site. This database is accessed through 3 secure checkpoints using 3 distinct log in identifications and 3 different and distinct passwords; the key to log in is Asymmetric encryption - to use the key, you must have the copy of the key and use the three different log ins and 3 different passwords. I am the only one capable of accessing that information at Just Scent. In addition, our entire site is protected by McAfee Secure Program - formerly known as Hacker Safe - The McAfee SECURE™ Trustmark only appears when the website has passed intensive, daily security scans. They test for possible personal information access, links to dangerous sites, phishing, and other online dangers. This rating is given to a website that meets the strict security checks that McAfee performs on the server and site itself. Our shopping cart has several safety measures - if anyone tries to log in - even unsuccessfully, I am notified of the ip address of the person attempting to log in along with the time and location of the ip address. I receive emails alerting me if anyone has tried unsuccessfully to place an order whether it is from user error or they are using multiple credit cards trying to find one that works for them. We have another precaution at Just Scent - the credit card being used must match up with the correct billing address of the card holder. We verify orders being shipped to different people at a different address other than the cardholder billing address before orders are shipped. I personally check each authorization code to make sure the codes match the name, address and zip code. If they do not match, I personally call the the cardholder to verify the billing address and to whom the order is being shipped and the amount of the order. The credit card company is then called to verify the card and the card holder information. We take every precaution to safeguard our customers. If someone is placing an order and the wrong information is entered more than 3 times, the shopping cart will not allow you to go any further. That prevents people from spinning numbers to keep trying until the correct number sequence is reached. I realize these safety measures are only applicable if someone is trying to use a stolen credit card on our site - but we are still very cautious. A few years ago, my amazon account was hacked for several charges amounting to over $2000. It was a nightmare! I truly feel for our customers that have gone thru this - it is time consuming and painful both to your mental health and your wallet. Again, thank you for letting me know about this problem. I want my customers to know we take every precaution to provide a secure and safe shopping environment both in-house and off site. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me directly at beckyjo@justscent.com
  2. Natty Cat - I have not received emails from you regarding discontinued oils or I would have responded to you, so please accept my apology. The oils you are speaking of were on the Discontinued list for several months, with quantities available listed. We also made several announcements when I further lowered the discontinued prices. Rather than compromise the oils by keeping them or buy more, at a higher price due to purchasing in smaller volume, for an oil that doesn't sell well, I decided to discontinue them. Casablanca was an oil that was brought out last year for Valentine's Day - we had it listed on our Fragrance List since mid to late January or earlier. It was not selling well, so we decided to discontinue it this summer. We had notices almost daily when I added it to to the discontinued list as to how many pounds we had left in stock. At any time, when looking at the discontinued oils, I listed how many pounds were and are available; all oils listed except Tahitian Tiare have how many pounds are available. Lookout Point is an oil I have stocked since 2004 and you can still find it on the Discontinued Oil Page - when it is sold out I will no longer stock it. It has been discontinued by the Manufacturer. Sandalwood and Bee Blossom was an oil I held onto for a long time. It was on my fragrance list for well over a year. Personally, I love that oil, but it was not a big seller for us. Again, I added it to the discontinued list this past summer. I listed how many pounds were left and updated it as it sold. It was on the discontinued list for several months until it too sold out. As with most oils, I generally try to stock them for at least 6-8 months, if they are not selling well at at that point, I will discontinue them or put them on sale to see if that will generate some sales. If they still do not sell well, after being put on sale, I will discontinue them. I do not feel that is lightening fast. I feel they have been given ample amount of time to be tested and ordered. JS is no different than anyone else as far as keeping and buying items that do not sell well. I cannot afford to re-stock oils that I had to sell below cost to move. I like to try different things to see if they work or not. I can at least say we tried. Just Scent has many, many oils listed that have been on our fragrance list for a long time. In the three years we have been open, the list of discontinued oils has been slim compared to the list of oils we add and keep. I have not added any oils to the discontinued list since early summer. Natty, I am not sure sure who you are placing orders with, but I have not received an order from you, in your name, since February. I looked thru everything and cannnot find anything except the February order. None of the oils you discussed were on that order. I am very sorry you are disappointed; I would like to extend my apologies for your inconvenience and again for the email mishap. I assure you I would have gladly responded had I received them. Since you have been unable to reach me thru the Just Scent email - please feel free to use my personal email account - beckyjo@roadrunner.com I can order Casablanca and Sandalwood and Bee Blossom in 10 pound increments as a Special Order for you.
  3. Hi everyone! I hope I am posting in the right spot. Thanks so much to Christina for letting me know about this thread! I so appreciate all the warm wishes! Your thoughtfulness overwhelms me. It has been a crazy couple of weeks, but I am finally feeling better. As long as I slow it down a little and make a few changes, all should be well. Easier said than done; slow is not a word I like, but I guess I'm going to have to start warming up to it. I had hoped to return to the office next week, but it looks like I might be on hold for another week. My doctor has "gently suggested" that I lay low for a few more days to give my new med's a chance to work properly. I will be working from home for the next few days, so I will be available by email. Thanks again to all of you! You have no idea how good it makes me feel to see all the nice notes!! It is very much appreciated! Becky Jo
  4. To Grandma's Kitchen - My apologies. I'm sorry this turned into such a nightmare for you. The only reason I responded to Jordan was because I received a PM late Friday night, while working on the newsletter. I was unaware of an email from you. I had no idea what was going on. I told Jordan, it might possibly be the cocoa and if that were the case, it would more than likely be okay thinking it would dissolve when heated. I did not have any floaties in my oil, so I am at a loss until I can look at it. I went thru all my mail boxes and found your email in the Spam Box sent on Friday. I replied to you by email on Saturday morning ending with - if you have any concerns with the product I would gladly send you a new bottle or any other bottle of oil - your choice. I have family members home for the first time in a long time and will not be returning to the office until Tuesday and will look look at the Fantasia at that time. I will gladly replace this oil for anyone who has concerns. I do not expect anyone to have to strain this oil. We have sold a tremendous amount of Fantasia and no one has said anything to me about floaties of any kind. This is a problem that was brought to my attention very late on a Friday night of a long holiday weekend. I promise you it will be addressed. I am always very prompt in responding to all e-mails. I value my customers and your satisfaction is always my main concern. I apologize to you all for any inconvenience this has caused you. Becky Jo

  6. Hey everyone! This is my first post, so be easy on me! Not to be a stick in the mud or anything - but I am wondering Mei Mei if you have my company - JUST SCENT confused with someone else? We have never sent candy of any kind with orders. I have had a gazillion emails and calls from people wanting to know why they didn't get candy in their orders! I asked all of my packers if they were putting candy in orders and they all looked at me like I was insane. LOL! We are guilty of adding extra samples - but no candy! Sorry everyone!! I don't want to offend anyone; I thought this might cut down on the emails if I posted! thanks everyone!!
